We worked with Mason and his team at Sino-American to remove our existing chain link fence and broken iron gate and replace with a new wooden fence and custom built gate for our DC rowhouse. We coordinated with our next door neighbor who was getting the same work done and had worked with Mason before and they built both our fences and gates in teh same day. Mason was very professional and communicative throughout the entire process and produced top notch work that we are very happy with. Our project was unique and complicated given several obstacles including our existing ground level deck, our neighbor's property sitting a few feet higher than ours and a huge tree on the property line that posed some design challenges. Ultimately, Mason and his team came up with a great design that accomplished all of our objectives and looks great. We would recommend Sino-American to our friends and are already discussing future projects with them.

We love the porch Sino-American built for us. Their attention to detail was terrific and the finish work is top-notch. It seems like every time I sit out there I notice one more detail that was done very well. They kept us informed of the progress throughout and took care to make sure that the final product would be what we had in mind. The crews were professional, took care on our property, and the left the construction site neat every night. We would hire them again.

Mason and his team are great. This is the fourth project he has done for our house over the past 10 years and every time we are very impressed with the outcome. This project was a complete master bath gut and remodel including completely changing the footprint and expanding the size of the bathroom. There were unexpected challenges along the way regarding the existing structure and framing but Mason and his guys came up with solutions for everything and completed the project according to our vision. The project came out great and we have a wonderful new bathroom and large walk in master closet. I will hire again for any other projects that come up in the future

Mason was fantastic to work with. Very pleasant, patient, knowledgeable, clear and detailed oriented. The master bath remodel was finished ahead of time. The crew, (Giovanni & Abby) were was at the house daily and were nice folks who did a really good job with the full remodel of the old bathroom. Excellent communications, suggestions, planning and follow ups from Mason made the whole process stress-free. The cost is fair and in the midrange of the market. I would not hesitate to have Mason work on any other future project on the house and highly recommend his services.

We should probably call our house design and remodel by Mason as he has executed so many wonderful projects for us. The latest was a complete remodel of our hall bathroom and the building of a storage closet/ window seat in an upstairs bedroom. As is his style, both projects were executed flawlessly and the results were stunning. He is meticulous about everything and it shows in the results. Along the way, we ask him questions and he solves other problems in our old house. He is just a gem to work with.

This is the second time we used Mason and his crew. Capitol Hill home that needed a stucco makeover. The house looks great and the entire process was seamless and stress free. Mason is a pro and his communication every step of the way is fantastic. His crew works hard and are very meticulous with every detail. Would highly recommend.

I have worked with Mason and his excellent crew on several projects…a basement dig-out renovation, a kitchen renovation, brick repointing, four bathroom gut/renos, and a living room/dining room gut and renovation. Obviously, I value his thoughtful cogent input, his excellent crew of various superb artisans, and his "brace and suspenders” thoroughness, or I would not have come back to work with him so many times! He is instantly available and totally reliable. The results of the work speak for themselves… these rooms are perfect and perfectly put together. I would not consider working with any other company. His excellence has spoiled me:)

Mason is great- we have used him for three large projects so far and the work is fantastic. We first hired Mason to finish our basement and was immediately impressed by his prompt and professional communication as well as the detailed estimate. We went back and forth on a number of items as we tried to figure out what we wanted to do and Mason was very patient with us and was very clear with any changes we asked him to make. With the exception of some changes we asked to make throughout the project, his initial estimate was very transparent and spot on to the final cost. We were so impressed by Mason and his crew (he has him own people, not subs) that we hired him again to do a complete renovation of our kitchen. This was a much bigger project that involved structural work to remove a wall and replace with a beam and he did not disappoint. We had a lot more opinions regarding how we wanted the kitchen to be done and he was again very patient with us and very clear with his communication. The crew was consistent from the last project and again did fantastic work. Finally we hired Mason a third time to build a new sunroom off the kitchen (formerly a screened in porch) and again he did a great job. We are now looking to do a bathroom remodel and we will hire Mason again in a heartbeat.

Mason and his staff at Sino-American GC were a pleasure to work with. They renovated the bathroom, installed multiple doors throughout the DC condo, and installed a tile backsplash in the kitchen. The bathroom work was a complete remodel, the team installed all new finishes and fixtures in a timely manner, on budget and schedule, and with great care. I’m glad we had professional staff that could walk us through different scenarios for installation as the project work went along as dealing with uncertain existing conditions can be a challenge.. The tile work throughout the condo is flawless and by far our favorite. Not only was the team knowledgeable during construction, but gave us tips for maintenance as well after the project was completed.

Mason, the owner, and his team did fantastic jobs remodeling three bathrooms for us. All were complete remodels, including new flooring and tile work. I have found Mason very easy to work with, and prompt and thorough in communicating and good at trouble shooting the inevitable unexpected item in a remodel. All projects were completed in a timely manner, and I've very happy with the results!

They did, excellent, detailed work. What was important was the time they spent reviewing the original design provided by the architect and identifying the mistakes. In addition to the stairs they did extensive repairs to the back decks. Moreover, they added a new deck to the top floor. The workers are rigorously trained and well organized. They always finish ahead of time,

Fantastic - very patient, great to work with, totally transformed a condo we bought that hadn't been remodeled since it was built in 1972. Worked well with getting necessary permissions, following condo rules, great advice and attention to detail. Plumbing, tilework, drywall, recessed lighting, painting, wiring all went very well. Any errors were promptly addressed and corrected. Highly recommend.

We absolutely love our basement! This was our first big home project and Mason was very patient and worked with us on the project size, scope and budget. Mason was extremely communicative throughout the renovation process and we always felt informed. In the midst of the pandemic, Mason and his team were always very safe. We will absolutely use Mason and his team again whenever we do another project

We hired Sino-American General Contracting to build a porch for us in 2018. This was the fourth project we hired Mason to design and execute. As has been the case with all of his work, the results were outstanding. The deck is well constructed and beautiful. This is one of the best investments we have ever made. It has extended the living space in our home, allowing us to entertain outside 8-9 months of the year. During the pandemic, we have used the porch every day. Mason, working with an architect, conceived and executed the space with precision. He suggested details along the way that stayed within our budget, but ensured that the final product was exquisite. And, when you work with Mason you never have to worry about projects not being designed to code. He is exacting in his work. As soon as we can, we will hire him again to update an aging bathroom. He has become our go-to contractor for everything.

Excellent. Mason and his team came in while I was out of town. I returned to a remodeled bathroom that exceeded my expectations with no need for supervision on my part. I had one minor issue with the placement of a tub fixture. The plumber immediately returned to address on a Sunday morning. It has now been over two years from the time the work was done and all continues to work perfectly!!

Mason and his team have been great to work with. We've asked them to replace our roof one summer, and vault the ceiling of a room the next summer. Both projects went smoothly, and we've had no issues since. As with any large project, there were a few things that needed to be addressed afterwards, and Mason assisted in resolving those with no hesitation. Mason did a good job during both project in being reachable and response to any questions we had. Overall in terms of pricing, the cost of each project was competitive relative to others. Mason was fantastic about keeping us up to date and walking us through any issues that were discovered during the process. I also loved they the crew stayed to complete the job and didn't work just a few days then come back a few days later, like many other contractors I have worked with. Everything looks great and I would definitely hire again for other projects I have around my house.

I can't say enough about the service and quality provided by Sino-American. We live abroad and had to manage the entire project virtually. Mason's team handled everything from architectural plans, DCRA approval, gutting and asbestos removed in the existing home, construction of the extension, plumbing, electrical, new roof, new HVAC, and all finishing work. The place looks amazing. Finally, there aren’t many GCs operating in DC anymore because in part of the surprising painful permitting process. Mason was incredibly diligent and transparent throughout the entire process and made both the permitting and the entire project as painless as possible. My family is happy to recommend Sino-American GC for any construction project.

We had a great experience with Mason and his crew at Sino-American. From the start, Mason's communication was excellent and he offered several design ideas that actually saved us money in the long term. We had two bathroom remodels done in our Takoma D.C. condo in October/November of 2019. Mason's team are highly skilled at their trade. The drywall work was exceptional!. His crew is respectful, punctual, and we felt comfortable having them in our home for several weeks. Mason took care of everything and was quick to respond if we had questions. We had a significant amount of tile work done and it turned out great. We couldn't be happier with our new bathrooms and glad we went with Mason. We would typically text with Mason throughout the project but he was always available by phone if needed. He also stopped by the project several times to check on the work and oversee the project. The bathroom remodels required complete demolition, relocation of plumbing, and framing. Mason is a great project manager and handles all the finer details and project timeline. He offered suggestions as the project moved along, and was sure to get input from us before he made any changes. While we chose the materials I'm sure his team could offer design ideas that would work well with any project. After seeing the completed product I would certainly use Sino-American for future projects and would recommend them to anyone. In fact, we would consider buying a home that needed a total remodel, and hire Sino-American to do the job. Great work and thanks for being professionals at what you do!

Mason said the job would take 5-6 weeks; it took 7 and a week of the delay was due to Home Depot. He made a number of excellent suggestions for small upgrades to what I had proposed. He understood very well my concerns: this is a small space in an 1882 building, so there were a lot of complications and I wanted to cram in as much storage space as possible.

We hired Sino American to deal with the aftermath of a plumbing disaster in our hundred year old row house in downtown DC – the original cast-iron pipes below our bathrooms and over our central hallway had sprung a leak and could not be repaired. The replacement of the pipes would likely require tearing out the flooring of the bathrooms, so while we were at it, it made sense to renovate them. Sino American’s was neither the lowest nor the highest bid, but we hired the company because its proprietor, Mason Callejas, was both candid and creative in suggesting ways we could improve the bathrooms in the course of renovating them, and because the reviews here and elsewhere praised his communication throughout the project. For example, he was willing to bid the job with an alternate price that would involve repairing the pipes only from below, without ripping out the bathroom floors (we ended up not going that route). He also suggested something that had not occurred to us – making an insurance claim about the leaking pipes (this ended up providing a modest payment toward the cost of the demolition to get at the pipes). And, his bid seemed to involve the smallest amount of time when we could have to be out of the house while both bathrooms would be out of order It was a good choice. We had to be out of the house for at least three weeks, so we scheduled the work for a time when we were going to be abroad. That complicated the communications, but Mason did a great job of sending photos and talking to my brother and a friend who were willing to be our standins while we were away. (and the friend is a retired contractor who was very impressed both by Mason and by the work that his staff were doing). He had good ideas for improving the bathroom flooring (thus lessening some of the problems with the house’s construction that contributed to the problems with the pipe) We ended up with two very nice bathrooms; and along the way we added new kitchen stone counters and repainting of some our other downstairs rooms. The construction took a bit longer than estimated (you have to expect the unexpected in construction jobs), but the time we could not use the bathrooms was still less than any of the other bids had suggested would be needed. The price crept up over time given the add-ons needed to address issues arising during the project), but remained lower than the highest of the bids were received. And SinoAmerican was very good at the last-minute fixes needed at the punch-list stage of the process My wife and I have hired a number of contractors for jobs big and small over the past 35 years to deal with our own home as well as an investment property in DC, and among them, Sino-American ranks with the very best. I would recommend Sino-American to other homeowners without reservation. I rarely give five stars in my reviews but here it is fully deserved

We have big plans and thought it would be best to go with one team that could be with us from the planning to design to actual work, all in stages over the next few years. We've just finished our second project with Mason and all from Sino American and I HIGHLY recommend it. I think the biggest thing I can say as to why I suggest you contact Sino American ... we had one bathroom upstairs and worked with Mason to turn it into 2. This was going to be a month and half project with people coming in and out of our house almost every day, leaving only a 3/4 bath in the basement for us to use and almost half the house unusable.... and I was 7 months pregnant with a 1.5 year old. I was DREADING it but I had absolutely nothing to be worried about. Yes, the walking up and down stairs to the basement bathroom was annoying but everything else was so much less of an inconvenience than I thought. The guys were polite, respectful and cleaned up each day. They even let my toddler pretend to help them with his fake drill and screwdriver. It wasn't nearly as noisy or intrusive as I expected and it all turned out amazing! We love our new bathroom remodels and can't wait to move on the phase three of the project with Mason!
