"I had a wonderful experience with Founders Insulation. They were extremely easy to work with. It was easy to schedule an appointment, the gentleman who came out was knowledgeable and polite, and I felt that I received good information and they did not try to sell me something I did not need. Their quote was excellent. The work was scheduled and completed quickly. The installation team was courtesy, thorough, and knew their stuff. They were respectful of my home and went above and beyond. I highly recommend this company."

"Jeff Dahlgren did a great job. He was early and got to straight to work. He kept me informed throughout the install. He was diligent when installing the lights and fan. His attention to detail during his install made me feel very confident before it was even done. I am so happy with the light and fan, they make my kitchen and den look so much better. I would highly recommend him and JW to anyone who asks. Great work."

"The workers arrived on time and they explained everything they were going to do. They covered my floors. They took pictures through out doing the work. They put jump suites on and covered their faces and off they went cleaning all the old product out of the attic. They cleaned the attic out completely. They took pictures before and after. Then they took thick padding up to the attic. I also saw them take the baffels in the attic and heard them installing them. Then i saw them bring in the long tube to install the loose cellulose insulation. When they were done more pictures were taken and i peaked in to the attic after they finished. I've never done that before. They took their time to install the insulation and didn't rush. There was one minor issue, but not enough to cause me to say i wouldn't hire them again. The past days have been cold and i can definitely feel the difference now i can't wait until summer to see how cool it stays upstairs. So far for the couple of days of having the insulation it's been good. Oh my reason for getting the insulation was because it would get extremely hot up stairs in the summer and very cold in the winter."

Eifs Installers questions, answered by experts

Finding a reputable contractor for an egress window installation involves researching and vetting potential candidates. Start by searching for local professionals, reading customer reviews, and checking their websites for a portfolio of their work.

Once you have a shortlist, ask the following questions to ensure they are qualified:

• Are you licensed and insured?

• What experience do you have installing egress windows?

• Can you provide references from previous customers?

• Do you perform the work yourself or use subcontractors?

• What is the estimated project timeline and your current schedule?

• How do you handle payment?

New window installation costs range from $300 to $1,500 per window, depending on size, material, and energy efficiency features.

Yes, egress windows can significantly add value to a home. By making basement and attic areas safer and more livable, they allow you to market these spaces as finished living areas, which increases your property's value. Many homeowners can recover the full installation cost, with some sources citing a return on investment of around 70%. The exact value added depends on your specific home, location, and adherence to local building codes. Beyond financial value, egress windows enhance functionality by adding natural light and comfort. They are also a crucial safety feature, often mandated by building codes to serve as an emergency exit.

Adding windows to a house is expensive. Budget roughly $5,800 to add a single window, and double or triple that to add two or three. In some cases, adding a single window can exceed $20,000, depending on the type of exterior wall, the size of the window, the type of window, local permit costs, and other factors.

Yes, you can always make an existing window bigger, but the job complexity varies widely depending on the location of the window and the framing around it. Exterior walls are always load-bearing, so making windows wider will require structural changes that make for a more complex but doable project. Making windows taller often won’t require structural changes.
