"Job was promised to be less than two days. The crew arrived at the time agreed on and was thorough, covered walls not affected by the work and were finished by the end of the morning. I will recommend AA Action to anyone in need to basement waterproofing, crawl space improvements and related items."

"We found Basement Waterproofing Nationwide to be highly ethical and very knowledgeable. A little over a year ago we had BWN perform some basement waterproofing. We were delighted with the work and the options presented to us as well as the speed with which it was done. This summer during the very heavy rains, we had some water seep into the basement so we called for an evaluation. As it turned out, the rebuild contractors (which we had opted to contract with a lower price provider vs. using subs hired by BWN) never communicated to us that the newly installed sump pump required an electrician and that it was not hooked up. This house is inhabited by tenants and we are not in the same state, so it's hard to tell where the communication breakdown occurred. Basement Waterproofing Nationwide's service rep however was extremely professional and helpful in delivering this bad news. He also checked and was able to confirm that the waterproofing was still good. He made a few suggestions like letting us know that he noticed where the drywall had been replaced that the outlet plates were never reinstalled. I also had some questions about the contract and he was very helpful and had the office fax me the pertinent info that same day. Lesson learned for me was that it would probably have been better to let BWN hire the contractors for the rebuild esp when you are out of town and unable to oversee. When there are heavy rains in the area like Baltimore had in July, it might take a few days for them to process the volume of calls especially if the nature of your request is minor. But they do respond. They are extremely professional and they stand behind their work."

"We are the 2nd owners of a 15 year old home. Don't know why the original owner/builder did not put a sump pump in the basement, as it would have been a cheaper option in the end. If you are building a new home with a basement, put a sump pump in, don't scrimp on what is a very valuable insurance policy. After looking at a handful of other companies to retrofit a sump pump in our cellar, we picked All Aspects Waterproofing, LLC. They did a great job! Very high quality work, and outstanding service. They did a great job! We enthusiastically recommend All Aspects Waterproofing to any homeowner!"

"We had a basement waterproofing issue. Shopped around a couple of companies. With the best rating on google, and with good reason, Best Buy Waterproofing was our choice. Rob was knowledgeable, diligent, patient and open towards our questions and concerns. Best experience I had with any company rep to date. He came out twice to our place (once the first time to look at the issue, second before he took the work to make sure we all are on the same page.) And then he was there before the work was started to make sure all of us were on the same page. The crew that came out (Darwin, Juan, Raul, Hammie, Chilo) were very careful about their work, respectful, and meticulous. They plastic sealed the work area to prevent dirt, and broom cleaned the area after they were done. Even after the work was done and the transaction was completed, Rob came out to check the work and to make sure it was up to his standard. He olso brought with him the mold treatment up on my request and took care of that as well. Thank you Rob! I highly recommended Best Buy."

"The exterior waterproofing took 2 days. Applied a black coating that resembled black tar around the foundation wall and then applied a black sheeting on the foundation. Sprinkler heads were placed back to their original position and landscaping was replanted to their original spot. Overall a nice job.

Basement Waterproofing questions, answered by experts

In Washington, pay close attention to the city’s clay-heavy soil, which can increase hydrostatic pressure on your foundation. Homes near Rock Creek or in flood-prone zones may need extra drainage solutions. If you live in a historic neighborhood, review any restrictions on exterior changes. Limited street parking and narrow alleys can also affect access for contractors and equipment, so plan logistics in advance.

Helpful?

Signs your Washington home may need basement waterproofing include musty odors, damp spots, peeling paint, or visible cracks in basement walls. Homes in low-lying areas, near the Potomac, or with older construction are at higher risk. If you notice high humidity, uneven floors, or seasonal water intrusion, it’s wise to schedule a professional evaluation to determine the best waterproofing approach.

Helpful?

In Washington, unexpected costs often come from discovering hidden foundation cracks, outdated wiring, or old plumbing during waterproofing. Older homes may also have lead paint or asbestos that require special handling. Additional expenses can arise if tree roots interfere with drainage systems or if weather delays work. Be prepared for possible extra inspections or permit requirements that can extend your project timeline.

Helpful?

Combining basement waterproofing with other upgrades in Washington can be a smart move. If you’re already opening up walls or floors, consider bundling projects like foundation repairs, electrical updates, or HVAC improvements. This approach reduces repeated disruptions and may streamline permit approvals. Coordinating with local contractors can also help you avoid scheduling conflicts and ensure all work meets Washington’s building codes.

Helpful?

In Washington, maintaining your basement waterproofing system means regularly cleaning gutters, checking downspouts for blockages, and ensuring proper grading around your foundation. Test sump pumps before the rainy season and inspect for new cracks or moisture. Keep dehumidifiers running in humid months, and trim back tree roots near drainage lines. Annual professional inspections help catch issues early and may be needed for warranty coverage.
