"Very well. They were on time both times, first when taking the initial measurements and later for the installation. They made helpful recommendations, particularly regarding back splashes and the sink, that made the end product better than expected."

"Went great. Sales rep showed up very quickly after I called to request a bid. There was no hard-selling, no pushing of products I didn't need or want, just full information and a very reasonable price. They sent a second guy out to recheck the measurements before ordering the windows - he showed up exactly on time, finished his business quickly, and left. The subcontractor who installed the windows came well within the specified time range, protected the flooring appropriately, and replaced the windows complete with finishing the project with white caulking, and cleaning up completely afterward. When I need to replace more windows, this will be the company I call."

"Drainworks team has done several different jobs to my Plumbing and Well system to get them up to excellent standards. The guys were patient and had a sense of urgency wanting to get things repaired for me. I was absolutely satisfied with every job the guys completed. I had my entire Home filter system replaced, I had a leak in my Well casing repaired and also a leak in an underground main water Pipe that had sprung a leak repaired. I highly recommend Drain Works for all your plumbing needs!"

"Joe from JMS Drain Services was my service technician who arrived well within the window scheduled service time. Joe came in, inspected the sink to determine how to resolve my issue, took out the tool (snake apparatus) to clear the sink, and departed my premises within 15 minutes. I was pleased he resolved my clogged sink so quickly so I could rest after a night's work. Thank you again, Joe."

"Nothing but complete professionalism, attention to detail, and superb customer service.  The finished project is absolutely beautiful and their workmanship is top notch. The crew was great, cleaned up afterwards, and there was no interruption to using my bathroom as it was a quick install. I am looking forward to not having to scrub anymore. I am sure to have carefree home pros install cabinet refacing and counters."

"Jimmy is an artisan. His creativity and skills came together to create what we needed to make beautiful spaces in our home. Over the years Jim installed all new windows and doors throughout our home, he added a 14’ by 42’ extension to the back of home, he installed and designed our kitchen and our bathrooms. He also added custom moldings and built a one of a kind custom fireplace mantel in our living room. From scratch!! He is a perfectionist so he will not leave the job until HE is satisfied. He is proud of his work and he has every right to feel that way. I recommend Jim without any reservation!"

Sink Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, if you live in a climate with extended periods of frost or snow, it’s best to winterize the sink and avoid potential bursting. Similar to winterizing a garden hose, turn off your water from the source. Once turned off, open the faucet so the remaining water completely drains out. You can also pour a small amount of antifreeze down the sink drain so any trapped water won’t freeze.

A good option for opening up and cleaning a sink drain is to use a ¼ cup of baking soda and 1 cup of white vinegar, along with a rubber stopper to cover the drain while those materials work their magic. After about 15 minutes, you can flush the drain with hot water. In many cases, these materials can scrub out minor clogs and get the drain working properly again. If the issue persists, call in a plumber near you to get the problem permanently fixed.

To avoid the high costs of plumbing repairs, watch for potential problems. If you see any signs of a leak, consider hiring a professional plumber. A pro can assess the level of damage and make the appropriate repairs.

Plumbing leaks are always better tackled immediately. You can also fix any minor repairs yourself or ask the plumber if they can use less expensive materials.

The cost depends on the parts, labor, extent of damage, and whether extensive plumbing modifications are required. Typical repairs cost $150-$300.

Porcelain and enamel sinks have very similar appearances, but they aren’t the same. Porcelain is a ceramic made from natural clay, while enamel is a strong powder that’s glazed over a metal sink. Use a magnet to determine whether you have an enamel or porcelain sink. If a strong magnet sticks to the sink, it’s likely enamel. If it doesn’t, you probably have a porcelain sink. You can also use the model number on the sink (often found on the underside of the bowl) or information from the manufacturer to determine the material.
