"Absolute PLEASURE working with Gary and the entire Tradewins team. If you are looking for a fair & honest price and an owner that prides himself with honesty & integrity Tradewinds in the only company you need to contact. Gary was by far the most professional out of any company I had out to my property. He came prepared to measure the property, quickly created a sketch of the property representing the location of the irrigation heads, and gave me an impressive packet outlining all materials used for the design with the manufacturer brochures. All you can ask for is an upfront, fair, & honest company with the reputation to back the materials & work performed and you can expect that and more from Gary and his entire staff at Tradewind Irrigation LLC. I’m as OCD as it gets and the installation team from Roberto all the way down to all the members of his team were an absolute pleasure to meet and the attention to detail and the pride they take in leaving your lawn in such an undisturbed manner was really above my expectations!!! Thank you for a truly AMAZING experience and treating my property as if it was your own!!"

"Had True Green for a few years. First year or so they were great. Did what they said they would do.  Turned the lawn around.  However had issues with their guarantees.  That was the whole reason why I went with them.  When I ran into an issue last summer with their grub warranty I received lip service.  No one showed up to re mediate even though the regular guy from True green and I had called several times with no response.  This year started up.  I called and canceled.  Apparently they took notice.  Some guy said he was going to stop by and take a look.  Never did, but did send someone with grass seed.   Then they continued on as if I had not stopped.  I called when they said that they were coming to do some more work and said I had canceled.  That did not stop them.  They showed up anyway and did the work.  After complaining they did not charge me which was good.  A week or two later a guy spoke with me.  He seemed very sincere to keep my business, but it was a bit too late.  Why didn't True Green take action last fall when I called up a half dozen times?  Good things -  Their product is pretty good, but they ignored the soil testing results that I had.  Bad Things -  When there are issues they are not exactly smooth at straightening them out quickly.   Pricing differs from town to town."

"I highly recommend Rivers Construction for your next home improvement project. Dan and Janel are wonderful people and easy to work with. They come when they say they’re going to, keep me informed with regard to the work that is involved as well as the cost. They both have great work ethics, pay attention to detail and stand by their work. I’m very happy with the work they've done for me over the past year. Dan and Janel are the best and you will not be disappointed."

Lawn Irrigation questions, answered by experts

You can reseed a lawn that has dead grass, but it is best to remove the dead patches before you begin. Removing the dead turf and testing the soil will help you determine what is killing the grass so you can make the necessary amendments to prevent the problem from recurring. Once you have made the appropriate adjustments, you can rake, fertilize, and reseed. If your lawn has many large dead patches, it may be more effective to remove all the existing grass, amend the soil, and start over from scratch.

Reseeding your lawn can help eliminate thin or patchy portions of grass. If you’re paying a professional to aerate your lawn, it’ll cost you an additional $50 to $80 on average to reseed it  in the same trip. Reseeding a lawn yourself can cost between $500 to $1,000, meaning you’ll probably save time and money hiring a professional service.

Buffalo grass is not a dense grass, so weeds can grow between the buffalo grass plants. However, as long as you don’t overwater your lawn, weeds have a hard time growing. If you do notice weeds, you can use granular herbicides that are safe for buffalo grass in early and late summer.

Post-dethatching, lawn recovery includes watering, fertilizing, and reseeding as necessary to restore health and promote growth.

If your grass is stressed from being over-trimmed, try watering it heavily and then allowing it to recover for at least two weeks before mowing again. If you notice brown patches where the grass has died off because it’s too short, you should remove the dead grass and overseed the area. Leaving dead patches can invite weeds and other problems, so if you want a totally green lawn, getting rid of dead patches should include removing the dead sections before reseeding the area.
