He was able to squeeze us in in a very short time and did a fantastic job. He was clean, orderly and provided good quality workmanship. His quote was also very reasonable. "George listens to the customer, makes suggestions if necessary and proceeds with a contract. Said contract has a price range that he never exceeded depending on whether or not unforeseen issues occur. George renovated two bathrooms, installed laminate flooring on my bathrooms and master bedroom. He is efficient, neat and never leaves a project unless it is perfect. George will be called upon for all my future projects."

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

Larger tiles can be difficult to install because they’re heavier and bulkier than their smaller counterparts, which makes them harder to haul around and put in place. Plus, if you don’t install the tiles correctly, they could crack or break. For these reasons, it’s best to hire a professional for large-format tile installation.

Options include clay, concrete, and slate tiles. Each offers unique durability, aesthetics, and costs.

While you shouldn’t use thinset mortar on its own as a floor leveler, it can work alongside other products to help level floors. For instance, you could start with a self-leveling compound, let that dry, then apply backer board with thinset mortar to help fully even out the floors ahead of laying tile.

Tile countertops can last up to 100 years when properly maintained. Ceramic and porcelain tiles are the most durable types and can last as long as natural stone countertops like granite, marble, and quartz. Tile countertops are much cheaper than natural stone countertops, making them an excellent option for a homeowner with a limited budget.

Yes, but you’ll have to use some other type of tool to avoid damaging the tile and possibly injuring yourself. Some alternatives to tile cutters include a glass cutter, angle grinder, and wet saw. Depending on the tile material, you might simply be able to measure and score it with something sharp, like a carbide-tipped pencil, and break it off. Be sure to sand the edge for a smooth installation.
