"My husband and I highly recommend Jeremy. We had power issues and Jeremy walked us through everything that was going on. He went over the pricing and stuck to it. He is quick to respond to communication. We are very happy with the work he and Austin did to correct and upgrade our electric service. We will definitely be using him for future electricity needs and recommend him highly!"

"This was by far the best contractor experience I’ve had in many years. Rob is friendly, knowledgeable and professional. He was able to work within my budget and kept me informed during every stage of the process. My generator was ordered and installed in only one week, which was also very impressive. I would highly recommend Buckley & Son Electrical Contractors."

"Roberto Suarez ( A and A Electric) was excellent. He showed up in the pouring rain and installed the wiring for an electric range on a Mobil home. The job entailed running cable approximately 50 feet under the unit in pvc, installing the outlet and connecting it to the breaker box. He gave me the best quote, did excellent work and was a total gentleman! All on a Sunday in a torrential storm. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!"

Electrical questions, answered by experts

The longevity of electrical work in Madison is shaped by strict code compliance, the use of corrosion-resistant materials to handle coastal air, and expert installation. For older homes, marine-grade wiring and robust grounding are crucial. Weatherproofing is essential due to frequent storms. Choosing local professionals familiar with Madison’s unique climate and building styles ensures safer, longer-lasting results for your electrical system.

Helpful?

In Madison, overloading circuits with space heaters during cold months, skipping regular GFCI testing, and neglecting bathroom ventilation can all speed up electrical wear—especially with coastal humidity. Using outdoor outlets without proper covers and letting salt or ice build up on fixtures can also cause premature damage. Proactive maintenance and adapting habits to Madison’s climate help extend your electrical system’s life.

Helpful?

In Madison, the timeline for electrical projects depends on the scope and property type. For example, panel upgrades or replacements typically take 1–2 days, while whole house rewiring—especially in historic Madison neighborhoods—can require 3–7 days. Installing new outlets or switches usually takes 2–4 hours per location. Permit processing adds another 3–5 business days, and exterior work may be delayed by local weather conditions.

Helpful?

Madison offers a range of electrical contractors, including full-service providers for homes and businesses, residential specialists experienced with historic properties, and emergency electricians for storm-related issues. You’ll also find generator experts, smart home installers, solar electrical contractors, and marine specialists for waterfront properties. Commercial and industrial electricians handle larger systems, all with knowledge of Madison’s specific codes and requirements.

Helpful?

Completing electrical projects in Madison brings immediate safety improvements and ensures reliable power for modern appliances. Over time, you’ll benefit from increased property value, improved energy efficiency, and fewer unexpected repairs. Upgrades like panel replacements or smart home installations also prepare your home for future needs, such as electric vehicle charging, and help your system withstand Madison’s variable weather.
