"I was very impressed with David's responsiveness and every member of his crew was a pleasure. They completely removed the kitchen floor (and several layers of subfloor) in my 100+ year-old home, made repairs to floor joists and installed new flooring that looks beautiful. It was an evolving project and I appreciated the team's flexibility and speed with which they completed the project."

"Nelson did an outstanding job restoring the Marmiline pieces in our bathroom. He was very meticulous and took his time making sure that he removed the stains and scratches in them. He is extremely knowledgeable in tile restoration. Periodically, he would have my husband and I look at his work to see if we were happy with how it was turning out. I highly recommended M&N Stone Restoration and Repair LLC!"

Customers say: True professional

"I hired Michael Datre of Tile Brite to clean my rugs, carpets and tile floors. Michael arrived as scheduled and did an awesome job. He was professional, efficient and did a high quality job. The tile floors have not been this clean since the tiles were installed - especially the greenhouse tile grout was very stained since it has been used as a greenhouse for years. I highly recommend Michael Datre, Tile Brite."

"We had our old tile shower renovated and had bath planet acrylic shower installed. The installer who came and did all the work was very pleasant, on time, worked very hard, finished the job in one day and completely cleaned up when he was done.. It looks gorgeous! A great feature to choosing bath planet is the limited lifetime warranty and the materials used are very sturdy and easy to clean. Overall we are very pleased with the results."

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, but you should only put tile directly on drywall in smaller areas that don’t experience excess moisture. For example, a small kitchen tile backsplash could work, but installing tile directly on the drywall in a bathroom or other chronically damp area is not a good idea. Either way, a cement backer board is a far more reliable solution, as drywall is susceptible to moisture and can warp or cause your tiles to crack.

Flooring transition strips can be secured to the subfloor using glue, nails, or screws. For a more secure installation, especially in high-traffic areas, using screws or nails is recommended as it reduces the risk of slippage. However, if aesthetic appeal is a priority, glue provides a cleaner, more seamless finish without any visible holes or screw heads.

Most professional shower tile installations take between six and eight hours, depending on the size and complexity. Most projects get completed in a single workday. DIY-ing the project takes around three to four days or roughly 16 hours. However, this will vary based on the skill level of the person completing the work.

Per the International Code Council, walk-in shower floors should have a minimum slope of 1/4-inch per foot (or a 2% slope) towards the drain. The slope should be no steeper than 1/2-inch per foot (or a 4% slope). This helps safely direct water into the drain rather than all over your bathroom.

No, painting shower tile doesn’t last and is better reserved as a temporary solution to refreshing the look of old tiles. Shower tile paint may last around one to five years, depending on how well you prep the surface before painting, the type of paint you use, the type of tile in your shower, and how often you use the shower.
