"Showed up quickly performed the work they said they would do for the price. everything was straightforward and simple and they left us with a color video of the inside of my septic system which was super cool and well worth the $950 for the peace of mind of knowing what’s in the ground. ❤️❤️❤️"

"The septic tank had not been cleaned for over 10 years. Bill, from Flushaway Septic came within an hour and a half of my phone call. He explained what had to be done after opening up the septic tank and did the job promptly and neatly leaving the area perfectly clean. He charged $275 for a total pump out with lots of solid waste. He explained how to keep the tank clean and suggested a cleaning every 3 years. I highly recommend him to anyone needing this service."

Septic Tanks questions, answered by experts

Over time, your septic tank can accumulate a buildup of sludge at the bottom of the tank. If left unpumped and uncleaned, the sludge will back up into your pipes and home, causing failure and extensive (and smelly) damage. Repairs to your septic system can be costly, which is why regular maintenance is required. It takes about 30 minutes to pump a septic tank that’s 1,250 gallons or less or 1 hour for larger varieties.

A well does not run out of water because the groundwater continues to refill with rainwater that seeps through the ground. If the well is too shallow or there is a drought, a well can run dry or be short in supply. It’s important to have a well deep enough to source enough water for your home’s use. Deeper wells tap into more groundwater reserves. If your well is not producing enough water, you may need to redig your well.

Drilled wells have a pipe sticking up that’s covered in a plastic or metal casing. On the other hand, a dug well will look like a big hole in the ground and is more similar to what you’d see in a fantasy or Western movie. If you want to be sure, contact the city for documentation on your property’s construction and excavation history.

Most deep wells can be expected to last somewhere between 30 and 50 years. This assumes that the well and all of its components are properly maintained on a regular basis. During this time, it is unlikely that modern deep wells will run dry over the course of their typical lifespan. That is one of the biggest benefits of digging a deeper well.

Consider site conditions, soil type, required capacity, and system designs compatible with environmental protection regulations.
