"Showed up quickly performed the work they said they would do for the price. everything was straightforward and simple and they left us with a color video of the inside of my septic system which was super cool and well worth the $950 for the peace of mind of knowing what’s in the ground. ❤️❤️❤️"

"The septic tank had not been cleaned for over 10 years. Bill, from Flushaway Septic came within an hour and a half of my phone call. He explained what had to be done after opening up the septic tank and did the job promptly and neatly leaving the area perfectly clean. He charged $275 for a total pump out with lots of solid waste. He explained how to keep the tank clean and suggested a cleaning every 3 years. I highly recommend him to anyone needing this service."

Septic Tanks questions, answered by experts

French drains, sump pumps, and exterior waterproofing systems are common options. Choose one that best suits your property’s needs.

A septic system can fail for various reasons, and most commonly, excessive water use or sudden surges in wastewater can overwhelm the system's capacity. Neglecting regular maintenance, like tank pumping and inspections, can also lead to clogs, leaks, and eventual breakdowns. Other issues that lead to failure include age-related wear and tear, root infiltration, improper disposal of non-biodegradable materials or chemicals into the system, unsuitable soil conditions, physical damage, and even environmental factors like flooding or soil erosion.

Septic tanks naturally have bacteria that break down some of the solid waste in the septic tank. However, sludge buildup is just part of owning a septic system. While liquid wastewater can be filtered and treated through the system, a septic tank company has to pump the septic tank out at least every few years.

The water refills in a well through gravity that draws water from the water table to fill the vertical hole. The pump brings the fresh water through a pressure tank and to the pipes in your house. The well continues to refill indefinitely as long as you don’t use more water than the well is producing.

Your septic tank may be full or clogged if you notice household drains that are backed up, draining slowly, or gurgling; greener, lusher grass around the septic system; pooling water in your yard; or smelling sewage odors outdoors. You can contact a local septic tank pro to inspect your septic system and pump your tank.
