Small jobs welcome

"John was fantastic. We had a section of sewer pipe that was something called Orangeburg (glorified tar paper form WW2 war shortage era). It was falling apart and had serious roots in it. He took A LOT of time and care and was able to clear the roots mostly out without destroying the rotting pipe, to the point where it will be usable for a few more months. The pipe will need to be replaced, but John bought us A LOT of time on a very expensive future job. He also was able to pinpoint what parts of the yard would need to be dug up and was able to recommend someone. It was obvious he cared about what he was doing and wasn't just in there for a quick payday. HIGHLY RECCOMEND."

"We have used ASAP twice now and couldnâ t have been happier with their response both times. We purchased a house with faulty plumbing that has been prone to total blockages. Joe has been able to get the drains cleared for us in less than 24hours and explained to us exactly why this is happening with the plumbing design. We wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone in need of prompt and reliable service."

"My sewer line was backed up and I needed help right away. Sam called me back in minutes and came right over. He assessed my problem and told me he would be back in the morning after giving me a temporary fix. Instead he called Mark and had him come over and take a look at the problem who found the source of the issue and gave me a more in depth temporary fix. He helped me with contacting my insurance company and was in constant communication with me every step of the way and was ready to come back if anything came up. He and his staff did an excellent job of removing item and conducting the clean up as well as, pointing out other problem areas. I would hire them again and I would recommend them to everyone. I was pretty nervous about the situation but they put my mind at ease."

Sewer Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Knowing the signs can alert you to a clogged drain line. Clogs cause slow drainage or cause no drainage (if there’s a complete blockage). You may also notice foul odors, gurgling noises, water backing up in other appliances on the same line, or a poorly flushing toilet. If you experience any of these issues and think your line might be clogged, call a plumber.

It can take anywhere from one month to a couple of years for tree roots to grow back in sewer lines. Tree roots can cause extreme havoc on your sewer lines, potentially cracking them and causing untreated wastewater to make its way into the groundwater. Have a landscaping pro remove trees and roots before installing your system, or call a pro to do it retroactively as soon as you can.

Ejector pumps can only push sewage 750 feet or less. That’s because their purpose is to move waste from your home to your sewer line—which is a relatively short distance. Grinder pumps can transport sewage further, but they manage lower volumes of waste than ejector pumps (and they don’t work with septic systems).

A sewage smell in your crawl space is usually from a damaged or clogged pipe leaking sewer gasses or actual sewage underneath your home, but there are some other common causes. Moisture, from poor or damaged encapsulation or a malfunctioning sump pump, can harbor mold and bacteria, causing a musty smell. Pests can also get stuck in your crawl space and die, which causes a sewage-like odor.

With a one-way cleanout, you can access your sewer line from one direction. Depending on the way it curves, a plumber can either access the side of the pipe that goes into your home or the side that goes to your yard. On the other hand, two-way cleanouts allow pros to access both sides of the sewer line, thanks to their dual-pipe design (they’re usually U-shaped).
