"The provider came and unclogged the toilet but left me with a toilet that would not stop running. After contacting the provider to let them know they texted me a YouTube video. They said that they were going to come back to complete the repair but did not. I ended up having to hire another company to complete the job."

Our mission is to service our customers in a prompt and professional manner. We do not consider a home improvement or remodeling project complete until the work is finished, the job site is clean, and the customer is completely satisfied. Licensed & Insured since 1997

"This is an overdue review. I hired Bernie and his team for a kitchen remodel in June 2021, after he did an excellent job with my three bathrooms in 2020. The kitchen remodel was also excellent. His works are efficient, hardworking and clean. My remodel took two weeks, as he had quoted and for the exact price he had quoted. I would hire him and his team again and I referred them to a coworker for her bathroom project. She was also very pleased with their work."

"The visit to my home in West Hartford was a nice affair. The technician explained everything. He even mentioned that I had to get a plumber to remove the sink away from the wall, so the work could be done to repair the window and wall area, but I did not hear him mention that I had to pull permits. The problem with this permit pulling issue is that I never initiated the pulling of permits, and this also is a red flag for me. The pulling of a permit should always be done by the contractor who is doing the job. It ensures that the permit pulled is to code. It ensures that the permit pulled follows local ordinance and CT. laws and statutes regarding construction, and that also includes consumer protection mandates in the State of Connecticut. Having me pull the permit to allow the CT. Basement Systems to do the work is a big, red flag, and it can result in my home owner's policy being cancelled if the permits are pulled either after the fact, or the permits pulled do not line up with the inspection process. I can also be fined by the town for pulling permits after the fact too. I've had my furnace replaced. The plumbing company who replaced the furnace followed state law and guidelines. Especially, since funding provided through a loan from a Credit Union chosen by the State of Connecticut ensured that permits were pulled correctly, legally. The same applies to my roof being replaced. The roofing company pulled the permit. Having a customer whom you are charging in excess of $20,000 to pull a permit is putting that customer in legal jeopardy, which is unacceptable. If I sell my house, and I had the work done in my basement, and the permits were pulled by me. The person who bought my house could sue me for an incorrectly pulled permit. How would I answer questions from the town about the technical aspects of the job, which should be handled by the contractor directly? Why introduce another layer of bureaucracy that slows down communication? Have the contractor pull the permit, so that the contractor and the municipality, town or city can communicate directly, and the pulling of the permit is done correctly and legally. How would I know, when the town should be doing an inspection during or while the job is being completed or after the job is completed? This should never be a requirement of the customer to pull the permit for a job to be done. The tech who visited my home mentioned that I had to hire a plumber to move a basement sink, but they did not mention about pulling of permits, but I went and re-read the quote again, and it is at the bottom of the quote page under "Customer Will" that states not only hiring of the plumber but also pulling permits and scheduling inspections. I did not have this job financed by CT. Basement Systems. I, instead, decided to get a home equity loan. If I did not get the home equity loan, then decided to go with CT. Basement Systems financing, then I would be screwed. The best thing I did was slow the process down, seek my own financing, and ask larger, bigger, deeper questions that prevented me from making a mistake by allowing this work to be done."

Our work is defined by superior craftsmanship, attention to detail, and technical ability. We always provide outstanding project management, organization, and coordination. "C&C completely gutted and renovated our hall bath and partially redid the master bath. The work included repair to downstairs ceilings, painting, as well as replacement of numerous doors, and replacing hardware in other rooms. I cannot say enough good things about this company and crew. They did impeccable work, were patient and helpful when materials delivered incorrectly and immediately helped us figure out solutions that turned out better than our original plans. They were respectful in our home, did amazing daily cleanup and the end result exceeded our expectations, which is not easy to do. Their estimate was spot on, no up-charging or hidden costs and the job was finished two days earlier than estimated. C&C will be our first choice for all our future renovation plans!"

Foundation Drain Installation questions, answered by experts

Your cesspool can be replaced with a septic system. It can also be connected to a main sewer or sewage treatment plant depending on your area. Replacing your cesspool will help to save money and avoid safety and environmental risks.

Most homeowner policies don’t cover damage to the actual French drains themselves. However, some insurance policies do cover flood damage. In the event that your current system fails and your French drains need to be fixed, you could be covered for any damages incurred. Check your insurance policy to see how they pay out for water damage if a drain system fails.

Depending on the severity, a slab leak can go undetected for months or even years, especially if you don’t carry out routine foundation inspections to find foundation leaks early. However, minor leaks are likely to turn into more severe leaks over time, so you might notice increases in water bills and issues with yard drainage, even if the problem is minor.

The pipe size for French drains depends on whether the area collects large amounts of water and experiences heavy rainfall. Typically, a 4-inch perforated pipe is used for French drains. However, for heavily saturated areas, you may want to use a larger size, such as a 6-inch or 8-inch pipe. Consult your French drain installer for best results.

You must first assess where water is coming from to drain water runoff successfully. Redirect downspouts and gutters to reroute runoff from your roof away from your driveway and foundation. Then, install drain systems, swales, or porous materials below the surface of your driveway and nearby drains to help manage water and improve drainage.
