From start to finish, he and his crew did a FANTASTIC job. Gerald even redesigned my roof drain pipe to go under the newly formed concrete walkway to avoid future concrete erosion. Since Gerald really want to get his crew working after the holidays, I received an outstanding price for this project. All of crew worked hard to quickly complete the project. Addtionally, Gerald even disposed of 2 broken/old office chairs & some other junk I wanted to hall to the junk yard. That saved me money that I might of had to pay to 1-800-GOT-JUNK. "This company did a great job for us. They removed old city sidewalks and replaced them with new, plus added a sloped section to our back yard walk leading to our garage. They showed up on time, completed their work in the amount of time expected +/- 4 hours. Pricing was very competitive based on 3 bids we received prior to starting the project. Patrick and his sons Marion and Benjamin were very professional, and took care not to damage our yard any more than absolutely necessary. During the work prep several sprinkler lines were damaged and they immediately repaired them even though their written contract excluded that requirement. They are honest and courteous and we are very glad we hired this local family owned business. They are the "real deal"."

"Van Matre was truly outstanding from start to finish. Brady gave us an honest assessment of our situation and a number of reasonable options to choose from. He taught us a lot about foundations, and spent lots of time with us as we tweaked and tuned the plan. They were able to get us on their schedule fairly quickly, and they finished the job in about a week, which I thought was amazing. Willis, who led the crew, was super nice. He recognized our interest in the details of what they were working on, and kept us informed the whole way through. Joel, Wheelz and Adam were awesome too. They cranked through the work and left our finished basement just as clean as they found it."

"The main reason for calling them was two jobs involving some height and difficult access -- reattaching a roof fascia that was coming off and creating a new interior window frame for a new skylight (turned out that the roofers who installed skylights did not do anything interior!). Both of these went quickly and well. As did a small job installing a valve in a shower line. However there were problems with the next item on the list (we felt we were committed to paying for an entire afternoon.) This was installing a new light fixture -- something we generally do ourselves if the location is accessible. Turned out the guy who came is afraid of electricity because he recently experienced a bad shock. Initially he wanted to turn off all the electricity in the house. Although we talked him out of that and worked with him to find the circuit breaker that turned off the appropriate circuit, it was in a dark hallway and we did not closely supervise the work. And he was in a hurry because they had told him he had to go on to pick up doors for another job the next day. Although he had been very careful to check every step of the way on every other job, he did not on this last one. And afterwards we found that this unusual fixture (two light track arms extending from a base) had been installed improperly so the arms could not be unfolded and extended. We had to take it down and reinstall it ourselves. We requested a small reduction in the charge, half of the time attributable to this job because we felt responsibility for the problem was shared, and that request was granted."
