NorthWoods Handyman

After calling Ron he arrived quickly to give us an estimate. He removed the Trex decking to replace rotting 2x10's. After the work was professionally completed the Trex was reinstalled. They arrived promptly every morning and did the work quickly. The deck looks great and the final bill was less than the estimate. We will refer Ron to our neighbors and use him again if we need work done.

Work was well done. Total final price was less than estimate. I have used before and was pleased with the quality of work then and this time.

Ron, the owner of NorthWoods Handyman, was involved in all the work done. He and his team were friendly, helpful and professional at all times. They did everything we needed and included us in decisions. He came in under the estimate, too. We will definitely hire him again!

NorthWoods Handyman has been an excellent partner for a number of repairs we're making to our farm house. Ron, the owner, came out to our house at our scheduled time to do an initial estimate of the repairs. He explained how he worked, who he'd bring out with him and what we could expect. My respect for him rose right away when he told us straight out that there was one type of repair he didn't do (carpet patching). I'd rather have someone tell me that up front than try to do it and make a mess of it!
Ron and his team did everything they said they were going to do and more. Along the way, they made good recommendations to make things even better (adding baseboards to the flooring, for example). They were patient when I changed my mind on the shower surround I wanted, and returned the old one to Home Depot without complaint. They even helped us move furniture around to make room for the flooring installation. Ron picked up all the materials we needed, credited back any extra items, and provided receipts for everything without my having to ask for them.
The repairs they have made look great. And the new flooring they installed in the basement is fantastic! Everyone who has seen it has commented about how great it looks. They've also been very respectful of our house and our time, letting us know when they are arriving or leaving, cleaning up after themselves, and just generally taking care of things. There was no mess left behind when they were done.
We will definitely be using NorthWoods Handyman again. In fact, we have already asked him to estimate four more projects for us, and are looking forwards to getting those completed.

UPDATE: We contracted NorthWoods Handyman again to complete some more minor projects, including one really icky one (pulling down old insulation out of a farm shed). They arrived on time and got everything done in two days! The work was excellent, and we're very pleased. I've upgraded their punctuality score to an A.

He did a great job and very reasonable. He was professional, punctual, and I would definitely recommend to others.

Called Ron and he came over late in the evening and discussed the work that was required and the time frame for completion. He and his crew came over on a Saturday afternoon and tore drywall down and trim work out, carrying everything to the dumpster. Any follow up that was needed was co-ordinated and adhered to with me. When it came time to start finishing work they arrived at the agreed time and stayed on task until the job was completed. The painting was done equal to or better than the builder's painters and finish work was spot on; can't tell there was ever a problem. Communication was good, attitude was professional and the clean up after they were done was great! When needing things done in the future, Ron will be my first call.

Seemed to go very well. Craftsmanship was good, but not great, and the price was very high.

They were an excellent team. Quality work, conscientious workers. Always on time and worked hard to ensure that the job was done on time. The made sure all the details of the job were complete. Excellent team and I will rehire them for other jobs.

Ron showed up promptly and my work was discussed my work and he gave me a price with materials which came in nearly to the dollar. Showed up on time and with a good attitude and professional appearance; promptly started work. Did what could be done first day setting posts in cement, framed out & painted door frame and stained and hung new gate. Next morning once again on time, finished what remained, cleaned up the work areas and we walked the jobs to be sure I was satisfied. Will use and recommend Ron not just for quality of work but for the attitude he approached his work with.

My sister who is blind was coming for a visit.  I needed to add 2nd banisters to help her on the stairs.  Tom Yoder did a great job, the bannisters look great, are stained, and he made it a priority, since she gave me short notice and I needed to have it done quickly.

Everything was great but the price. Our fault for not figuring out that usually it's priced by sqft.

Ron came over the same day as I called him, was extremely friendly and informative.  Great attitude.  He scheduled a follow-up date for two days later to do the work, showed up exactly on time and did a great job - plus, his final bill was 20% lower than his estimate. I will definitely use him again.

We had a couple of contractors look at the door and they said it would require tearing out the dry wall to expose the guides and rollers. Ron said he thought he could repair it withot a major effort. When we first called him he aswered the phone from a job site and had us call back to leave contact info. He came out to look at the job two days after we contacted him and scheduled to come out early the next week. His estimate was for $260. He said he always wanted to estimate high and only charge what was required. He showed up a few minutes early and repaired the door without a problem. His actual charge was $75.

NorthWoods Handyman was excellent. He was very business-like and cordial. He knew what he was doing. He had all the equipment he needed to do it.

Ron was very good about contacting me to schedule my work and was punctual when we he committed to the date.  His prices were fair and he did a great job on the fans and texture for the celing.  Will use him again.

Northwoods has literally done over 100 jobs for my family & I, and we even trust them enough to give them keys to our personal houses and rental houses so if repairs are needed to be made, Ron can do it ASAP without having to wait for us.  Prices have always been fair, and the quality of Rons craftsmanship is always excellent.  I highly recommend Northwoods Handyman!

I'm very happy with him, he does excellent framing, and dry wall finishing work. He's very prompt and dependable, and he really worked with me on ideas, he's very creative and knowledgeable.
