"They missed a few small items and left some paint spots in various areas. But they came back and gladly fixed the issues. Overall I was happy with their performance and price. I would use them again in the future."

"Anthony and his crew were on time, did an terrific job and took pride in the work that they did.  We have a three story house on the south side which takes quite a lot of abuse from the elements.  They did a great job of preparing the surface for painting, and painting both the cedar siding and the trim.  They seemed knowledgeable about the products that they used and took quite a bit of pride in doing a good job. When it is time to paint the entire house -- and it certainly will be in the next few years -- we will definitely use them again.  It was a pleasure doing business with them.

"Melissa came and gave us an estimate and also the news that our home had extensive hail damage on all sides. It explained why my house looked so bad. She also made a trip out to meet with our second insurance adjuster because our first was blind to the damage. We had other quotes and no one else had mentioned the hail damage. The second adjuster came and also found extensive hail damage on the roof. Because of her visit, repairs to my home of over 20K were paid by the insurance company. Oscar and his crew were very professional. They repaired some damaged wood, primed, and painted my home and stained my fence. I learned from reading reviews of painting in general that you should make sure you look at everything. That made sense to me. So when it was time for the walkthrough I was very thorough. They touched up, or fixed etc. everything that I brought to their attention. We then did a second walkthrough to make sure everything was done that was found in the first walkthrough. They left me with a home that I can feel proud of."

"The installer put his knee through one of the doors as he was installing it, so he had to buy a replacement and stain it, then come back to install. Because of this, it took 2 trips instead of 1. He didn't try to charge extra, but he also didn't offer a discount for the inconvenience of having to be present (at this rental property) for 2 installs.
I'm not unwilling to share my review, but I don't necessarily want to share the address where the work was performed. The fields are required, though.

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Essential tools include brushes or rollers, drop cloths, sandpaper or power sanders, and appropriate cleaning supplies. Quality materials ensure long-lasting results.

Yes, it is generally a very good idea to seal your deck after pressure washing. Power washing removes not only dirt and debris but also a thin layer of wood, leaving the surface exposed and more susceptible to weathering. Sealing is almost always needed after this process. After a general cleaning, sealing isn't automatically necessary if the existing sealant is still intact. You can test the surface by placing a few drops of water on it. If the water beads up, the sealant is working. If it soaks into the wood, it's time to apply a new sealant. If it has been a few years, it's wise to remove the old sealant, wash the deck, and reseal for maximum protection.

Wood stain does go bad, but it will last in the can for between three and six years, provided you use proper storage techniques. Storing wood stain in open containers or in extremely low or high temperatures will cause your wood stain to become unusable much more quickly. Water- and latex-based wood stains typically last for just two to four years, while oil-based wood stains can last for three to six years.

Yes, you can and should paint or stain pressure-treated wood to help prevent the boards from cracking. However, you must wait for the wood to dry out completely before applying any finish. Freshly treated wood can take weeks or even months to dry; a common recommendation is to wait three to six months. To check if the wood is ready, perform a simple water test: drip some water onto the surface. If the water beads up, the wood is still too wet and needs more time to dry. If the wood absorbs the water, it is dry enough to be painted or stained. You can proceed with building your deck or fence while the wood is still wet, but you will need to wait to apply the paint or stain.

You’ll need to restrain your deck when you notice fading, cracking, peeling, or mold and mildew over a moderate to large area, or when it’s become especially difficult to clean. As for how often to stain a deck, plan to do it every two to three years or whenever you start to notice extended damage.
