Customers say: Quick response

"Phil and his crew are: professional, experts in their field, personable, timely, efficient and very reasonably priced. Phil knew we were in a time crunch to get rooms painted for a pending sale and he made room for us in his schedule right away. He really listens to his customers and strives to meet their needs. I can’t recommend these guys highly enough. Call and get your estimate from Phil - I know he’ll be your guy - Just like he’s now ours. He will be our first call anytime we need painting or light handyman work done. Just look what he was able to do with our badly dog-damaged windowsills. We couldn’t afford to replace them so Phil sanded them, perfectly matched our stain, and resealed them. What a difference!"

"M-Cor Painting did an outstanding job replacing our 20 year old outside rear deck. The team was quick, thorough and were very responsive to changes needed to make the deck whole and safe. M-Cor Painting cleaned up the work area and left us with near new 10 by 10 and 20 by 20 rear decks. The pricing on the wood needed to be replaced was competitive and thus made the total cost much lower than we projected. M-Cor also did two other cosmetic touch up jobs to our house at little or no cost. Bottom line: My wife and I cannot recommend M-Cor Painting for wood work, painting and staining."

"They did not end up doing work. I ended up contacting them and I did get an estimate and ended up deciding to go with someone else. I had gotten a quote for interior painting and some minor plumbing work. He was very responsive in geting back to me and prompt in scheduling the times and needs. He showed up on time. h was courteous. We just decided to, even though it wasn't a lot less, we found soemone who we knew a more personal basis who could do the work for us."

"Trevor did an excellent job cleaning our deck/patio areas (500SF of stamped concrete, 400 SF of Eon composite decking). Decking: 20 yrs old. Stamped concrete: 30 yrs old. He power washed the surfaces with a 2700 PSI power washer. Pwr washing removed the loose sealer, dirt, dust etc. He applied terracotta red & brown Quikcrete color product (Home Depot or Amazon). He also applied the brown Quikcrete product to highlight the grout lines which gives the appearance of flagstone. He followed with 2 coats of Behr sealer & applied 303 Aerospace Protectant (Amazon) to the Eon deck. The 303 Product really brings the “oak color” & wood grain. Trevor also re-stained the Hot tub wood, wood bench, & vertical surfaces (posts, paneling etc). See the enclosed pics for details. Pay close attention to the Co Spgs weather. Sealers can take a few hrs to dry."

"Ken is a very conscientious, dependable and excellent painter. He stained the exterior of our log home in the Black Forest, and did a great job. He wants to please in all details of his work, and he strove to make certain that I was happy with all aspects of the job. He is a very polite and pleasant person as well. Will be calling on him again in the future."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can and should paint or stain pressure-treated wood to help prevent the boards from cracking. However, you must wait for the wood to dry out completely before applying any finish. Freshly treated wood can take weeks or even months to dry; a common recommendation is to wait three to six months. To check if the wood is ready, perform a simple water test: drip some water onto the surface. If the water beads up, the wood is still too wet and needs more time to dry. If the wood absorbs the water, it is dry enough to be painted or stained. You can proceed with building your deck or fence while the wood is still wet, but you will need to wait to apply the paint or stain.

Opt for an interior wood stain that is rated for your type of wood. Consider your personal style preferences as well as the overall use of the room when choosing a color. Remember, the color you see at the store may look different on your actual floors once applied. This is why if you have the chance, it’s helpful to test a few options on a scrap piece of wood in the room first. Once you narrow it down, you can test a small patch on an inconspicuous area in the room to see it on the actual floors.

Various kinds of substances and deck preservatives act as protective coatings for wood to prevent rot, which is caused by water getting into the wood and creating cracks and splits. Stains, paints, and sealants are the three best options to protect your wood, but there are also oils, varnishes, and waxes available. You’ll need to reapply sealant at least once per year, and you should inspect your wood deck regularly to look for signs of damage or general wear and tear.

Yes, beginners can use a paint sprayer, but there is a learning curve. It's important to go slowly, read the instructions thoroughly, and spend some time learning the technique. Watching tutorial videos for your specific paint sprayer model can be very helpful. Before starting your main project, practice on a scrap surface to get used to the sprayer and avoid common issues like overspraying, which can cause drips, bubbles, and other imperfections. For safety, always wear a mask and gloves, and be careful not to touch the sprayer's tip when it's in use, particularly with high-powered airless sprayers.

Yes, it is important to wash your deck before painting to ensure the paint applies well and adheres properly. While you don't have to use a pressure washer, it is one of the most efficient cleaning methods. Pressure washing can quickly remove dirt, wood fibers, and flaked paint, getting deeper into the wood than manual scrubbing. You can also clean the deck with a stiff broom and a cleaning solution. Regardless of the method, a clean surface is essential for good paint adhesion. Make sure the deck is completely dry before applying any paint.
