"Kyle and his team has painted numerous homes (interior & exterior) along with miles of 4-rail fence for a ranch that I work for. He does great work and is very communicative about the progress of the job. I would highly recommend Kyle to take care of any painting projects!"

"Joe came out to do a bid on pressure washing, staining and painting our home outside of Woodland Park. He gave us an honest and fair bid using Messmer’s Exterior oil based stain. David and his crew came up 2 weeks later and did an amazing job of pressure washing the house and repairing holes/cracks on siding & trim boards. A few days later they were back masking the windows and started staining. Total of 3 days to do staining and painting trim and garage door. They cleaned up all masking materials and our home looks amazing!"

"The house looks great! Thank you for performing much needed TLC on my home.

The gutters match the existing trim very well. Paint on the eves and such are well done.
JB Masters, roofers were courteous and efficient.
The owner is up front, and down to earth.

This is for a rental property so, some urgency was needed. It took three weeks and a threat to get another company ASAP got his crew to come out to the property. I also had some flooring done at the same time so, a good time for them to come out. Additional, drywall repair was needed after the washer/dryer was moved out of the way. I offered to pay the additional $100.

The quality of the work on the nail holes/drywall was good. Some texturing was applied to one wall that didn't even match the room. The clean-up after themselves was the worst I've seen and told to the company which didn't charge the $100 which was appreciated. The flooring guys took care of their mess and didn't understand the texturing as well on the one wall.

I go thru Angie's list to basically interview the talent on different projects . These guys wanted to paint the rest of the townhome but they failed the interview.  ,

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

You don’t necessarily have to remove all the old paint before repainting your deck, but it’s best to remove as much as possible to ensure a smooth and long-lasting finish. Prioritize scraping off loose, peeling, or flaking paint, and sand down rough areas to create a smooth surface for the new paint to bond with.

Painted decks typically require a new coat about once every ten years. In between new coats, it's best to maintain your deck by regularly removing debris, washing it down with non-abrasive cleaners, and staying ahead of structural issues, such as loose boards and rotting wood. In some cases, painting a small section of your deck affected by damage or the sun can lower your costs and workload.

There are more pros than cons when staining a deck. Deck stain is more affordable than paint, it protects the wood and allows the natural textures to shine through, and it can revive the appearance of your home. However, deck stain also requires prep work (sometimes days or more), carries more upkeep than a painted deck, and can fade over time if not cared for.

Limewash and whitewash are two techniques used to give brick a light, matte finish, but they differ in composition, application, and permanence. The best choice depends on your aesthetic goals and the specific surface.

Composition

  • Limewash: A natural and environmentally friendly option made from limestone, water, and sometimes pigments. It is breathable and soaks into porous surfaces like brick.

  • Whitewash: Traditionally made from lime, water, chalk, and binders, but a similar look can be achieved with watered-down white paint. It is paint-based and sits on top of the surface.

Appearance and Finish

  • Limewash: Provides a natural, textured appearance that allows the brick's character to show through. It offers a more traditional finish.

  • Whitewash: Creates a softer, more opaque finish, often used for a rustic or shabby-chic style.

Application and Permanence

  • Limewash: Is semi-permanent and can be removed, making it a good choice if you might want to change the look in the future. It requires more skill to apply and cannot be used on previously painted brick.

  • Whitewash: Is a more permanent solution. It is more forgiving to apply and can be used on painted brick. However, because it sits on the surface, it can trap moisture.

Ultimately, if you want a breathable, natural, and reversible finish for unpainted brick, limewash is a great option. If you need a more permanent, opaque coating that can be applied over painted surfaces, whitewash is the better choice. Whitewashing may also be more economical, costing approximately $1.40 to $4.20 per square foot.

If you have wood decking, there are several common deck problems that you might encounter. For example, your natural wood boards may fade over time due to things like sunlight, weather, and debris. On top of that, some types of wood decking can rot, grow mold, and attract destructive pests—including termites, carpenter ants, and woodpeckers.
