Customers say: Quick response

"For those of you who are considering investing in remodeling rooms in your home, we highly recommend that you consider Ready Set Go Construction. We decided to invest in our home by remodeling two bathrooms and having two unfinished rooms completed. We set out to identify potential contractors by inviting them to our home and providing a walk-through of the bathrooms and unfinished rooms. I shared my vision and solicited their feedback and - most importantly - their time and cost estimates. Dave Caballes, the owner of Ready Set Go Construction, stood out among the multiple contractors that visited our home. He was patient. He listened to my ideas and provided clear and concise feedback as it pertained to my ideas and expectations. Regarding Daves bid: It was very clear. We did not have to decipher pricing or ask for clarification. There were no surprises. We felt very comfortable awarding Ready Set Go Construction the remodeling work we have longed to have done to our home. Regarding Ready Set Go Construction team: Every single member of Daves team was courteous and extremely professional. We felt very comfortable having this team in our home. Dave has a great personality and he communicated with us regularly. Regarding Quality of Work: We are overjoyed with the results of Ready Set Go Constructions work. Dave, and his team, are true craftsmen. Our bathrooms turned out beautiful. The tile work is neat and clean. Our new finished rooms are beautiful. The walls have beautiful lines and textures. The floorboards are trim and flush against the walls. We could not be happier. We would also like to point out that the work was completed in a timely manner. Dave kept his team running like a conductor running a train schedule. If there were any delays due to adverse weather or issues acquiring materials, Dave had us on the phone providing details. We have already recommended Ready Set Go Construction to family members. We have worked with other contractors in the past. They were good contractors, but now that we have had a chance to compare Ready Set Go Construction against them, we will stick with Ready Set Go!"

"David demonstrated a level of professionalism that set him apart. He was responsive, knowledgeable, transparent, and genuinely cared about every detail. He happily answered questions and kept me informed every step of the way. The quality of work delivered on my basement exceeded my expectations. His craftsmanship, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence were clear. What was an unfinished space, transformed into a functional extension of our home that looks and feels like it was always meant to be there. What impressed me most was that David treated the project as if it were his own home. He took pride in his work, maintained a clean and organized job site, and made sure everything was completed to the highest standard. In an industry where reliability can sometimes be hard to find, David consistently delivered on his promises. Stop looking and call Mintz Construction. You'll get exceptional workmanship, honest communication, and a finished product you'll be proud of!"

Basement Remodel questions, answered by experts

You can paint your ceiling or install a drywall ceiling if the ceiling is unfinished, as they take up less headroom than drop ceilings.

If there are pipes in the way of ceiling installation, you can do one of two things: reroute the pipes or adjust the installation to fit, which will cost extra.

Whether it’s more affordable to gut a house than build a new one depends on the markets where you'd be buying and selling. However, it’s usually less expensive to renovate a home than to build new construction.

Most homeowners pay between $100,000 and $200,000 for demolition and remodeling costs, whereas the average cost to build a new home is between $139,000 and $531,300.

Anything having to do with the structure of your home, such as raising the ceiling, is usually the most expensive part of finishing a basement. Another project component that could be a surprisingly high expense is adding an exterior entrance.

The cost of a walkout basement can be anywhere from $5,000 to $35,000.

A walkout basement is considered to be partially below grade because at least one wall is entirely exposed. In some cases and in specific municipalities, inspectors and appraisers will still count walkout basements as below grade, which means the space can’t serve as living space or be rented out. If you intend on using the area as living space or a separate apartment, you should check with your local building department to make sure it’s legal to do so.

If you don’t have a crawl space but have a partial basement you want to make deeper, you can expect to spend a little less—between $40,000 and $90,000 on average. However, if you’re not adding new finished square footage, you won’t see much in the way of ROI.
