"Chris is a hands on owner of his company. I own a home with zero visible cracks when Chris and his partner were finished. My HOA requires proper paint codes and Chris brought me a perfect match. One year later I called Chris to paint to match my new garage door. He arrived to house within 48 hours. For fast, efficient and quality work give Chris a call."

"Melissa came and gave us an estimate and also the news that our home had extensive hail damage on all sides. It explained why my house looked so bad. She also made a trip out to meet with our second insurance adjuster because our first was blind to the damage. We had other quotes and no one else had mentioned the hail damage. The second adjuster came and also found extensive hail damage on the roof. Because of her visit, repairs to my home of over 20K were paid by the insurance company. Oscar and his crew were very professional. They repaired some damaged wood, primed, and painted my home and stained my fence. I learned from reading reviews of painting in general that you should make sure you look at everything. That made sense to me. So when it was time for the walkthrough I was very thorough. They touched up, or fixed etc. everything that I brought to their attention. We then did a second walkthrough to make sure everything was done that was found in the first walkthrough. They left me with a home that I can feel proud of."

"Ken Ortega repaired and painted the exterior of our twenty year old stucco home. What impressed us most about Ken is that he is a man of integrity. He takes the quality of his work seriously. The repair work included patching where the stucco had degraded and filling the natural occurring line of cracks in the walls that have developed over the last twenty years. Ken took his time and when finished both the patch work and crack filling matched perfectly with the original stuccoâ s integrity. He didnâ t scrimp on the quality of exterior paint, which was Sherwin Williams exterior latex paint. He did not thin down the paint. The result is a home that not only looks â new,â but when it rains, unlike other stucco homes in the area, there are no soaked stucco sides. The quality of paint Ken uses repels any moisture absorption. Ken does one project at a time. We signed a contract with him in January. It took him until May to get to us. It was well worth the wait. He is on the high end of the quotes, but as one of his references stated, â you get what you paid for.â We got it: Exceptional quality work done by a very professional man of integrity who views his work as an extension of his own personal values. Yes, my wife and I highly recommend Ken Ortega."

"Brian and his crew were professional, honest, kind, and efficient. They arrived when they said and worked diligently til the end. They washed and prepped each crack and hole. They also went beyond and repaired areas that weren't their responsibility. They covered all needed areas before painting. My home looks brand new. What I appreciate most is that Brian (owner) was present and hands on every step of the way. The cost was excellent. I 100% recommend them to anyone needing their home painted."

"It is difficult to assess the quality since it is difficult to see it on the roof or using photos provided. There was a definite miscommunication between people in the company and contractors, but they have got in, finally and the job was done."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

No, you don't need to stain Ipe decking, although you can if you want to change the color. You will, however, need to apply a UV coating if you don't want the natural color to fade. Speak to a deck staining specialist near you to discuss the best options if you want to stain your decking. And remember that you’ll need to seal your Ipe wood deck annually to protect it from scratches and Mother Nature.

Eggshell and satin finishes are best for porches because they sit in the sweet spot between scuffable matte and distracting high gloss. Your porch sees a fair amount of wear and tear, so you don’t want paint that’ll show every mark like matte, but you don’t want to be blinded by glossy paint in the sun either. Eggshell and satin have durability and a look that sits nicely in the middle.

When staining a deck, don’t skip surface prep, avoid staining damp or dirty boards, and don’t apply stain in extreme heat, cold, or wet conditions. Never overload the wood with a stain, as too much can cause tackiness or peeling. Also, don’t forget to test a small area first to ensure the color and finish look right.

Staining or sealing a cedar deck or fence is highly recommended to extend its lifespan and protect it from the elements. While cedar is naturally resistant to mold and mildew, it is not impervious to damage from moisture, sun exposure, splintering, fading, and rot over time. Applying a protective finish creates a shield that preserves the wood's strength and appearance, potentially extending its life by five to 10 years.

When choosing a finish, it's helpful to understand the difference between a sealer and a stain. A sealer sits on top of the wood, whereas a combination stain and sealer soaks into the top layer. Because it penetrates the wood, a stain generally offers better protection against UV damage and rot and lasts significantly longer. For the best results that also preserve the wood's natural color, consider using a near-translucent stain.

To maintain protection, plan on reapplying the stain or sealer every two to three years, either as a DIY project or by hiring a professional.

When choosing between deck stain or paint, knowing what will last longer is important. Deck paint lasts longer than deck stain. With deck paint, you can get up to 10 years of coverage before you need to reapply. With deck stain, that time is significantly shorter at two to three years
