"I asked Pat with Webb's Framing and Carpentry to give us an estimate for our deck. He came back with a very fair price and worked us into his schedule right away. We are so happy with our new deck and we had such a good experience with this company. They are fair, honest, professional, timely and they always cleaned up at the end of the day! We asked for a gate add on for our deck after he began working and he complied and still kept the project on schedule. I will only use Pat from now on for any carpentry projects and repairs. I highly recommend Webb's Framing and Carpentry, Inc. They do remarkable work!"

"When the crew came to my house and started the project they were working wide open for two days removing old siding gutters and trim. They installed new siding trim and gutters cleaned up everything. I would recommend this company to anybody who needs work on their home. Thank you again for your help with my project. "Troy and Matt did a fantastic job framing and installing custom surround for a new fireplace and prepping for the install of a barn door on the guest bathroom. TJ did a good job gutting an office and prepping and painting. I would without a drought hire them again and actually have some projects for next spring"

Carpentry questions, answered by experts

Traditionally, bungalows are single-story homes, although having a half or partial story on top of the first floor is common. While adding a second story to a bungalow is certainly possible, the home would no longer be considered a bungalow by the strictest definition.

The cost to frame a 2,000-square-foot house can fall anywhere between $14,000 and $32,000. This price can increase or decrease depending on what type of framing you choose, the quality of the materials, the project's complexity, and whether you decide to hire a professional to do the job.

An A-frame home can be cheaper to build than a traditional house, but that is not always a given. Prices can be fairly similar in some cases, depending on the location, design, and necessary site preparation. Costs for an A-frame typically run between $100 to $200 per square foot, which is comparable to the cost of a traditional home. The cost of an A-frame can come in under those numbers if you opt for a prefabricated kit.

A few signs that you need a new door frame include:

  • The door no longer fits properly in its frame and sticks or scrapes.

  • You notice cracks, holes, or rotting.

  • You feel a draft coming from around the door when it’s closed.

  • You find yourself frequently needing to make repairs.

Building a barndominium means converting a barn into a house. Barndominiums are becoming popular as spacious and stylish alternatives to typical housing structures. Old barns that become houses traditionally consist of wooden construction. However, newer structures, such as pole barns, often contain metal exteriors and roofs. Converting a metal outbuilding into a house presents an excellent opportunity to create a barndominium from metal.
