"I'm very satisfied and please that we went with Behold HVAC for our install of our central A/C unit. We encountered nothing but professionalism from the sales rep, installers, electricians, plumber and who ever takes the calls at their office. Just an overall great experience and I would recommend them."

"We hired Plumbing Tree to fix an improperly installed flange by the builders of the home. The quote from them was a little high, but calling around it was similar to other plumbers. The plumber agreed that the flange was not installed correctly (rotated 90 degrees) and the bolts were stripped. The first appointment was missed, I got a text message an hour before he was supposed to show up saying that he could no longer make it due to the current job going long. The next day, I got a text right before our installation time window that he would be late. The plumbers were professional and seemed to be doing a good job. They were thorough and cleaned up after themselves well. The sink wasn't caulked as we want to touch up the paint first and he was very kind to actually leave us a tube of caulk and a rag for the job. After the job is done, there are two things that are bothering me. The first was that the flange (double flange to increase the height) was installed in the same 90 degree rotation as the initial one, so honestly I am a bit confused on this (the slots where you are supposed to put the bolts in every single manual on toilets are at the front and back instead of the side and the top and bottom slots were used on the sides instead). The toilet itself is slanted, not perpendicular from the wall (not by a huge amount, but it is noticeable). Since it is caulked down on our new floors, it is going to be permanently off square. Over all, I think they had a good attitude and the job that was quoted for 1 1/2 hours took 2 hours, so not bad there. We are saying we would not hire again due to the rotation of the flange, the inconvenience of rescheduling twice and that the toilet was installed a bit crooked."

"I Had 5 different bids on my bathtub and shower projects, Jim Needham was the most professional company I dealt with. Pricing is a concern ,and he came up with an amount I could work with. I am looking forward to having them install my products and I like the fact they are an actual plumbing company!!"

"While there were some challenges with individuals on this project and it went over on its schedule, we are ultimately very happy with the quality and price of this installation. While Elizabeth wasn't on the actual installation team, she was a key team member in helping us discuss the financing of this project. She was fantastic and a true asset to this organization. The project manager was a wonderful salesperson, but left a little lacking in overall communication of project progress. I also wanted to note that Tipping Hat did cover the repair when the electrician had to unexpectedly put a hole in our drywall. It took some prodding on our part, but they did follow through. Finally, they did a wonderful job of the removal of our swamp cooler which was included in the price of the AC installation."

"Highest recommendation for the Aether Mechanical team for our recent boiler replacement--every detail of the experience was managed professionally and expeditiously, and the entire project was completed in one day. Take a bow Nicholas, Ivan, John, and team--virtuoso performance and a first-rate result! Two days after Christmas we woke up to a cold house and a boiler that would not fire up. Aether Mechanical responded at once by phone and Nicholas arrived onsite from Boulder to our house in SE Denver within two hours. Initial assessment indicated a burnt-out igniter. Nicholas replaced that and discovered during fire-up testing that carbon monoxide levels were *way* above acceptable limits. After repeated tests, the unavoidable conclusion was a cracked firebox, necessitating replacement. We reviewed estimates at three price points, selected one, and Nicholas mobilized his team. During a holiday week, working around challenges with HVAC supply house business hours, the team completed the installation entirely the following day. In spite of an expensive but necessary replacement, this has been singularly the best contractor experience I have had in 25 years living in a mid-century modern house that is starting to require more frequent repairs."

"Every step, from the estimate with the super friendly Ryan, to the final walk-thru with the always professional Gemini, was absolutely top notch. They installed a new furnace, A/C, and tankless water heater and we are very happy with the work and final outcome. The whole crew was wonderful!"

"New Era HVAC was amazing! I own a small business that has a very challenging environment to work around. Jared was extremely professional and minimized the disruption to our routine. We have large warehouse heaters. A few years ago we had one installed by another company. They left a huge mess, took 2 1/2 days to do the work and had no regard for disrupting our business. In contrast, when Jared replaced the second one he was done in one day, left the area clean and neat when he left, and was extremely accommodating with us. We have also had a tankless water heater replaced by New Era and had the same experience. Professional, honest, and reliable - you will not find a better company out there!!"

"Installed new boiler and replaced all the plumbing in our basement (our house is 127 years old). They did a good job and worked hard to get our boiler replaced when the old one gave up the ghost in the winter. Also did a good job replacing all our plumbing in the basement and crawlspace in 2 working days. Kind of a strange name but don't worry, they are a really good plumbing and heating company and offer a 0% interest loan to pay for the bill."

Install Boiler questions, answered by experts

DIY is not recommended due to safety risks and technical expertise required. Hire licensed professionals.

The average lifespan of a boiler is typically between 15 and 20 years, though some may last for as little as 10 years while others can reach 30. A boiler's longevity is influenced by several factors, including the quality of the unit, proper installation, and consistent professional maintenance.

The material also plays a significant role. Older boilers made from durable cast iron can last for over 20 years, with some functioning for up to 50 years. However, it's important to consider their lower efficiency, which can lead to higher utility bills. Modern boilers, often made from steel alloys, are designed to withstand high pressure and temperatures and have an average lifespan of about 20 years.

To maximize your boiler's lifespan, ensure it is installed correctly, have it professionally maintained each year, and address any necessary repairs immediately.

Yes, government incentives and programs are available to encourage energy-efficient upgrades in many regions. These incentives may include tax credits, rebates, grants, and low-interest loans for homeowners who invest in energy-efficient improvements such as HVAC system upgrades, insulation, and efficient windows. The availability and specific details of these incentives can vary by location, so check with your local government or utility company to explore your options.

The main difference between an outdoor wood furnace versus an outdoor wood boiler is what each appliance is heating. An outdoor wood furnace burns wood to create heat, which warms the air and moves it through the ducts in your home. An outdoor wood boiler uses the heat from burning wood to warm water, which goes through pipes to radiators in the home.

You can save money on heating oil through a combination of improving home efficiency and smart purchasing strategies.

Home Efficiency and Usage:

  • Improve Insulation: Ensure your home, especially the basement and attic, is well-insulated and sealed against drafts to prevent heat leakage.

  • Manage Your Thermostat: Use a properly calibrated and programmable thermostat. Lower the temperature by a few degrees, particularly when you are away from home or asleep.

Purchasing Strategies:

  • Buy in the Off-Season: Order heating oil during the summer months when prices are generally at their lowest. This strategy is most effective if you have a large primary tank or a separate storage tank to accommodate bulk deliveries.

  • Consider a Delivery Contract: Some companies offer contracts with a set price for the term. This can lead to savings if market prices for oil increase, but you might pay more if prices drop.
