"Gary, the master plumber who came to our home and gave us an estimate and did the repair work was personable, friendly, professional, and very thorough. He was the main reason we went with Rooter Guy. They were the most expensive of the quotes we received ( we had 4 estimates). The solutions Gary provided were the least intrusive to our plumbing disaster. The work they completed is wonderful and we feel very confident the repair will last for a very long time! The day of the repair job they communicated well and cleaned up everything perfectly. I could not be happier with the work - just wished the job was a little less pricey. "The service was great. They were experienced plumbers and knew what they were doing. They replaced 2 water heaters. The cost was reasonable and less than other companies quotes I was given on line and over the phone. White vinegar or baking soda can remove the crusty white deposits that minerals leave behind. A paper towel soaked in vinegar and wrapped around your faucet can effectively dissolve scale, but can be corrosive to some materials like brushed nickel if left on too long. Running water can help melt ice inside the pipe, but only up to a certain point. If your pipe is frozen solid, adding water will not likely resolve the issue. Water will begin to flow through the affected pipe once the area is heated by a plumber, signaling the issue is getting resolved.

Frozen water doesn’t always cause a pipe to burst. Most of the time, a clog will simply prevent your sink from draining properly. Plastic and PVC pipes could warp to expand with the frozen water without rupturing. But as the cold weather progresses and more water or debris piles up in a frozen pipe, the risk of a burst pipe increases.

You can remove air from your shower pipes in a few simple steps. Turn off the water at the main water supply and open all the faucets in your home, starting with those closest to the water supply and working away from those. Let the faucets run dry, then flush all the toilets in your home until there is no more water in them. From there, turn the water supply back on and let it flow for 10 to 15 minutes until the sputtering stops. To finish, turn off your faucets and flush your toilets in the reverse order.
