"Over 7 weeks AND 13 visits, we were intermittently subjected to gas leaks, water leaks, no hot water or heat and error codes on our tankless water heater. They took advantage of the fact that my 2 teenagers and I had no hot water and no heat and continuously up-charged us. During that time, they charged an extra $1900 over the original estimate of $4000. All of the issues were because they failed to recognize that my existing venting didn’t match the new unit (even though they added to the venting) and because they didn’t provide drain piping to manufacture recommendations. They offered me money back and then rescinded the offer as the problems they should have caught just continued. I ended up “chatting” with the manufacturer and showing them screenshots to prove the venting was wrong. They offered a cleaning crew after I complained and already cleaned up the mess they ground into the carpet. When I asked to speak to the owner/DORA license holder, Levi Torres, I was told Levi “doesn’t take phone calls”. Clearly, he only takes your money and wastes your time."

Mike had the nerve to tell me "he was losing money this job." Well, Mike never checked the other areas Shawn had finished. I had to redo my kitchen plumbing 5 years and ago. It usually takes a professional water heater installer between two and three hours to remove an existing water heater and install a new tank heater. However, it could take four to five hours if they have to work in a small utility closet or another tight area, like a crawl space. Tankless water heaters have a more complicated installation process, so they will take a bit longer. Additionally, a gas water heater requires a connection to a gas line, and that alone can add about an hour to the installation timeline compared to installing an electric water heater.
It is very difficult and dangerous to install your own water heater, so we strongly recommend against tackling this as a DIY project. Not only will you need to wire your water heater, but you’ll also need to connect plumbing to the intake and outlet. Sweating copper pipes and connecting wiring properly are skills most DIYers don’t have, and even if you do feel confident you can do it, working with water and electricity always leaves the potential for electrocution.
