"John was Great!!! Our first appointment had to be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, but John communicated the issue immediately which was much appreciated, and set new appointment. When John came arrived on time (A+) Professional and listened to my idea/suggestion (A+) Did the job in less than the estimated time (A+) Cleaned and REPAIRED the wall area which I didn't expect (A+) Price was 1/3 of what others wanted to charge. Definitely, recommend NorCal Water Treatment to others, and will be rehiring for future plumbing projects/issues. I'm real BIG on customer service/professionalism and John is "The Man!""

"Aloha sewer and services. (916-382-6920) This is one fantastic company!! Our home is at the bottom of a hill which causes a ton of rain water to come into our yard and flood various areas. Shane came out, looked at our yard, and said they could fix the problem with a series of French drains. Their crew worked during downpours and had the job done in two days. It's hard to find companies willing to take on a job like this let alone a company which does great work. They put our landscape back neat and orderly and cleaned up the whole job well. If you have drainage or standing water problems I would highly recommend Aloha."

"Adam did such a great job, I couldn't have asked for better service. He got my water running again, and then came back to install a new bladder tank, pressure switch and capacitor. He is professional, trustworthy and hardworking. Highly recommended!"

Water Softeners questions, answered by experts

A tankless water heater should be at least 10 feet away from a water softener, although the pros you hire for water softener installation can help you determine the correct distance. These two units need to have some distance between them to prevent hot water from the tankless water heater from flowing backward into the water softener when it runs a regeneration cycle.

You should not use a water conditioner with a water softener because a water conditioner changes the chemistry of the water and causes the ion exchange in a softener to be ineffective. Choose a water softener if you have hard water or well water, and use a water conditioner if you need to remove certain contaminants.

A good hardness level for drinking water can vary based on personal preferences, but an ideal level is 3.5 to 7 GPG. This means your water isn’t soft or hard. However, some people prefer the “fresh” taste from the minerals in hard water, while others like the smoother, “slippery” texture of soft water.

Choosing involves understanding water hardness levels, household size, desired features, and consulting professionals experienced in suitable system types.

Yes. Hard water is what causes scale buildup, and a whole-house filter provides numerous benefits beyond water softening. Any water that enters your home will go through the filter, which cleans up all water that you will use for cooking, bathing, and drinking. A whole-house water filter also blocks harmful particles like heavy metals.
