"The Miller Roofing Services are our heroes! They came to us during a time of dire need. Out roof was in disarray during one of the worst rainstorms here in Sacramento (early December). Our Friends referred the Miller Roofing Services to us. It took them less than 36 hours, start to finish in taking care of the job (our roof is ~1300-1500 sq ft). It has been a couple of rainy weeks since the roof was installed, and it holds up! Our neighbors constantly compliment us on the roof. We highly recommend this group to take care of your roofing needs. They excel at what they do! Thank you so much Miller Roofing Services for saving us during this wild rainstorm season that we call winter!"

"Marco did an excellent job on my roof. I didn’t expect him to remove so many roof tiles to get the job done and then he cleaned my roof, and then cleaned up the debris that fell from the roof. He also replaced some 2x4s around my garage door and he painted the 2x4s. The garage door looks like the original door."

"John was very friendly, very nice and very open. I knew spartan was the one as soon as I spoke with him. Plus the interest rate was very reasonable. And Amy in the office was so sweet, so helpful. I was nervous because progressive was going to cancel my insurance due to my old roof. I spent the whole day calling people and finally found spartan, Amy walked me through everytbing. Even the workers were sweethearts, Jose was my favorite.John was very friendly, very nice and very open. I knew spartan was the one as soon as I spoke with him. "DaBella did a great job. My new roof and gutters are beautiful. Roofing crew was very diligent about protecting my dad's memorial tree in the front yard. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars overall is that I wasn't told when the gutter installers were coming and they left long, bent, gutter nails and gutter trimmings in my yard that I found with my lawnmower blade. Overall, though, this is a great company to work with. The GAF roofing system is amazing and my roof doesn't look like any other roof in my neighborhood. The special air circulation areas are very different from what many roofers do, and I get a lot of comments about them. The roofing crew was very accommodating and patiently answered my questions and concerns as they progressed through the project. They ripped off 3 layers of roofing and replaced more than half of the sheathing in one day and installed the new roof in 1 day. 2 days for a new roof is amazing. Being a first-time homeowner and this being my first major renovation on my 1978-built home, it was a lot more expensive than I ever dreamed a new roof/gutters would cost. I'm not saying they were overpriced, but that I had a bit of sticker-shock after the quote. Even so, I had a very old, sad, 3-layer roof, 2 active leaks in the attic, and absolutely worthless banged-up gutters. Sierra M was great and was the only roofing contractor to inspect my attic and took pictures of everything she found on the roof and in the attic space. She explained What was wrong with the old roof and gutters and why things needed to be done. DaBella was the only roofing company who did an inspection and took pictures. I'll definitely have them back to replace the windows a little farther down the road. :)"

You can put new shingles over old shingles, but most municipalities only allow for two layers of shingles before you have to rip off the old roof and start fresh. In some areas, only a single layer of shingles is allowed due to the weight a bundle of shingles adds to your structure. In most cases, it’s a good idea to remove your old shingles before you install new shingles, especially if you suspect that a roof leak may have compromised the decking underneath.

There should be small gaps between your roof and the walls of your home, and other buildings. These small gaps let building materials shift, expand, and contract with weather and other outside forces, and they prevent moisture from wicking down walls from roofing and gutter systems. Without these strategic gaps, your home’s exterior and its finishes can sustain water damage, decay, peel, delaminate, and crack. However, there is a fine line between a smart gap and a problematic gap—all  gaps should be small, intentional, and covered or filled in with foam insulation to prevent pests from using them as access points.

Roofers most often use nails to fasten roofing shingles and other roofing materials. Nails have more holding power than staples and offer better weather resistance and longevity. However, it is possible to use staples instead of nails when installing a roof. Staples are less expensive, but not as high-quality.

Technically, a flat roof can be raised, but it’s extremely expensive, and there would not be much of a point. Most homeowners raise the roof in their homes to access the space between their existing ceiling and the roof, but flat roofs don’t have this space. Therefore, you can raise a flat roof, but it involves heavy structural modification.

The cost to install roof heating cables typically ranges from $500 to $2,000, with an average of around $1,000. On a per-foot basis, you can expect to pay between $8 and $15 per linear foot. Key factors that influence the final price include the size and complexity of your roof, roof pitch, the type and length of the cable, the price of the system itself, labor fees, and whether any additional electrical work is required. Generally, smaller roofs will cost less than larger ones. The total cost usually includes both materials and professional installation.
