"Trevor and his team showed up at about 7:30 a.m., right on schedule, and went straight to work. They were a skilled team, courteous, professional, and careful to prevent damage to the property and belongings (AND the inhabitants) as they dismantled the two trees. The job took less time than estimated and they were finished by 10 a.m.. That included time to trim two other trees I asked them to take care of while they were here. (I paid extra for that service.) They did a superb job removing the trees and grinding the stumps down to below ground level. Trees removed and trimmed, the team performed an excellent cleanup of the debris from the work. I would hire them again and recommend them to anyone needing tree services."

"Marcos and his crew showed up at the designated time and went right to work. Besides taking out a dead tree, they trimmed 12 trees. We are extremely happy with the end product. Our yard looks great and it is now one less thing we need to worry about. If you are in need of tree service or landscaping, give Lifetime Tree Service a call. You’ll be happy you did."

"It was great. Good price, and they finished the job before others even responded to my request. Very friendly guys, and they cleaned up more than they had to. Will hire them for my next landscape project, hands down."

"Gutierrez Tree Service is a professional business! Based on our experience of trimming 4 Queen Palms, we give them a thumbs up; this is a legitimate company, not some guys dropping business cards around the neighborhood; they make a statement as soon as they show up to your house with their work truck - it lets you know you hired the right crew; licensed and bonded; punctual; well prepared to provide you with a service for a fair price; courteous; clean and knowledgeable. We had 3 different estimates done for the job, but after meeting Martin we were impressed with his professionalism! We recommend this company and will be calling on them again in the future! Great job guys!"

"Had them come out for an estimate of reworking my irrigation, trimming and possibly landscaping (I already had a landscaper). Showed up on the day stated, on time and got after it! Got my irrigation repaired for less than other estimates, with practices that will save me money and hired them for follow-on landscaping that surprisingly came in under what I was paying for lesser service. I highly recommend Ed and his team. They rock!"

"La Costa came right away to give us a bid and came the next day to use their chipper to chip the branches of our 14 trees that were trimmed by our gardener. They finished the job quickly and cleaned up the area. Their price was really good and their service was excellent. I would hire them again if I need our trees trimmed, instead of having our gardener do the trimming."

"This company was wonderful to work with. We scheduled a consultation , they came over the next day. Luis is a certified Arborist he gave us advice for trimming the roots to our trees and tree removal. ( We have mature trees starting to lift our driveway) They answered all our questions and concerns. The quote was significantly less than other quotes we had from companies that do not have an Arborist on staff!!!!! This team came and removed everything we wanted and did such an incredible job! We even added on a few extra items when they were here and they were able to add on the work and complete it at that time without having to come back. They had a LOT of work, Huge overgrown oleanders, multiple trees, multiple bushes over 6 feet. All removed WITH the roots and guaranteed that if the trees/ plants come back they will come back- at no cost - to remove. I have never heard of that! And we've hired many tree removal/ trimming services over the years. We definitely recommend New Green Earth Tree care and will use them for our home for many many years. We've referred all our neighbors and friends. We have a nursery coming this week to plant new shrubs, trees, hedges, and palms. New Green Earth Tree care cleared everything for us even the weeds and ivy to help with our project"

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Generally, you do not have the right to take fruit from a neighbor's tree, even if the branches overhang your property. The fruit is considered the property of the tree's owner. While you may have the right to trim branches that cross into your yard, the fruit on them typically still belongs to your neighbor. However, laws can vary by state and municipality. In some areas, branches that extend into your yard or trees that straddle a property line may entitle you to some of the fruit. The best course of action is to speak with your neighbor, as they may be happy to share. If a conversation is not possible, check your local regulations before picking any fruit.

Whether tree roots will continue to grow after a tree has been cut down depends on the species. Some tree roots will eventually die because they can no longer get nutrients through photosynthesis. However, other species that reproduce through root sprouts can continue to grow and produce new sprouts for seven years or more. For example, the roots of elms, ficus, and willows tend to regrow aggressively, while the roots of pines, oaks, and maples will typically die. To determine if a root system is still active, look for new sprouts on the old trunk, stump, or any exposed roots.

A general rule is that trees need 10 gallons of water for each inch of the tree’s diameter. For large trees, that can amount to approximately 160 gallons of water or more. Watering big trees to this extent can take quite a bit of time using a hose. For this reason, you may consider installing a soaker hose or sprinkler system to make the job easier.

Generally speaking, you’ll want to avoid flush cuts, which are cuts made as extremely close to the trunk or main branch. These cuts can weaken your tree, lower its natural defense mechanisms, and even cause decay. You’ll also want to avoid tree topping, which is the total removal of the leader and upper main branches of a tree.

Most pros will advise against either of these methods, which is why hiring a pro is often the best choice when it comes to tree trimming.

There are a few general rules to follow that will help you prune your trees correctly. One of the most important rules is to prune during the correct season for the type of tree you have. Typically, pruning should be during late winter. For younger trees, you should not remove more than a ⅓ of the tree's crown when pruning. Also, remember to remove dead and diseased branches first, then proceed with pruning the rest of the tree.
