"Maya’s Landscaping Service is amazing! We have multiple eucalyptus trees and other trees that needed to be trimmed way down. They were here on time, gave us a more than fair price and did the work quickly and efficiently. All of the team members were very friendly. Hire them! You will not be disappointed."

"I recently hired Rodriguez Tree Services for tree care and yard clean-up, and I must say, I am highly impressed with their work. Their team was punctual, professional, and knowledgeable. They provided a comprehensive tree care service, including trimming, pruning, and shaping. They took the time to assess the health and condition of each tree, giving personalized attention to ensure their well-being. The end result was beautifully manicured trees that enhanced the overall appearance of my yard. In addition to their tree care services, Rodriguez Tree Services also performed a thorough yard clean-up. They removed fallen branches, cleared away debris, and tidied up the entire area, leaving my yard looking pristine and well-maintained. I was particularly pleased with their attention to detail and their commitment to ensuring customer satisfaction. They listened to my specific requests and went above and beyond to deliver outstanding results. Furthermore, their pricing was fair and competitive, especially considering the high-quality work they provided. They provided a detailed breakdown of the costs upfront, so there were no surprises or hidden fees. Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend Rodriguez Tree Services for tree care and yard clean-up. Their professionalism, expertise, and dedication to customer satisfaction are truly commendable. I will definitely be using their services again in the future."

"I spoke with Sebastian about removing two trees and i got a really great deal out of it. They did an amazing job and even removed the millions of leaves that my trees dropped beforehand. Very professional and got the job done as planned. Definitely would hire again for other projects!"

"Sal and his crew provided excellent service. He shows a particular concern for the overall health of the tree, and uses his skill as a certified Arborist to assess where the tree is in its life cycle, what particular stresses or diseases it may be presently subject to, and recommends a course of action which is best for the tree's continued health and survival. He also pays particular care to any wildlife which might be nesting in the tree at the time.
I would recommend Sal's company (S & H Tree Service) to anyone and everyone. I will call no other man for the job, and intend to use him exclusively from now on.

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Unless it’s dead or dangerous, think twice about cutting down a tree in your yard. They’re good for health, well-being, wildlife, and the environment. Plus, local authorities often have regulations prohibiting the removal of trees, especially protected species or individual trees with historical value.

If the roots are still alive, the dead tree will usually try to put out new shoots. That doesn’t mean the tree will survive or that the dead parts of a tree will come back to life. If parts of the tree have died and turned gray or rotten, nothing will bring them back to life and they need to be safely removed.

Whether tree roots will continue to grow after a tree has been cut down depends on the species. Some tree roots will eventually die because they can no longer get nutrients through photosynthesis. However, other species that reproduce through root sprouts can continue to grow and produce new sprouts for seven years or more. For example, the roots of elms, ficus, and willows tend to regrow aggressively, while the roots of pines, oaks, and maples will typically die. To determine if a root system is still active, look for new sprouts on the old trunk, stump, or any exposed roots.

If tree branches cross well into your property line, in many cases, these branches become part of your property, and you can trim them up until your neighbor’s property line. However, this issue will vary based on local ordinances, so you should do your research before making any decisions. Better yet, speak with your neighbor about how to handle any tree issues.

If you don’t mind the branches, you can leave them be, but if they’re becoming a hazard, it’s definitely worth having a conversation.

Tree roots can take weeks to years to die, depending on the method you use. Chemical herbicides take the least amount of time—typically between three and four weeks—while homemade methods, like covering an old stump with leaves, could take between seven and eight years. If you’re unsure which method to use or how quickly you need to act, consulting with a pro is always a good idea.
