"I cannot say enough great things about Hanson Plumbing. Mike came and gave me a quote for the work. I was adding a new bathroom and needed new drains and water supplies rerouted. They were up front and in the end saved me some money after opening up the walls. They were on time and very friendly. The whole team is great and Bonnie was always on top of customer service."

"HomeX technician Eddie replaced a broken water shut off valve in the bathroom & installed a replacement kitchen faucet. He was knowledgeable, friendly, efficient & responded to my emergency call within the hour. The HomeX office & dispatcher were very friendly & helpful. This is the second time HomeX has come to my rescue to take care of my plumbing problems. I will definitely call them next time I need a plumber."

"I stared to look for a plumber after I found water under my water heater. I jumped on Angi and posted my issue. With in minutes....Art messaged me and said he can be her 1st thing in the morning. BTW. This was 10pm at night. His quick response was a plus for me. I had one other respond but he over extended himself to my need. He came at 7amd and said....you need a new water heater. I can got get one and install it now. I was a bit reluctant and he said call me when your ready and left. My wife said his prices looked fair and he seemed like a good plumber. I called him back and said lets dance. He was back at my home in a hour and 1/2...and started the work. He protected my carpet and placed plastic on it. He warned my that maybe the cost might go up due to the age of the pipes and valves. He had the old one out and the new one in an an hour or so. He was quick, clean and polite. I paid him and shuck his hand. I recommend Art for your household plumbing needs. He was excellent."

"Mike was timely, accurate in his assessment and responded to calls quickly. They are awesome! I would highly recommend Titan Plumbing to everyone. We had a really big plumbing issue during the Thanksgiving holiday, including our main sewer line, and they were great. We were so glad that we called them!!"

"I was extremely pleased to meet Tony today to install a new water heater in my condominium in Rancho Palos Verdes. Immediately when Tony came to the door, he introduced himself, shook my hand and was just an absolute pleasure to deal with. I think he is a straight shooter and I immediately since this was a fair dude. Tony is the owner of the company so it was fantastic to deal directly with the boss who could give me straightforward answers. I had received several quotes for this job ranging from $2700, $2900 and the best one was $6800 all for the same product. Tony quoted me $1795 and that is what I paid. I have struggled to find a local plumber who I connected with and now I think I finally found my man. His crew was polite and they were very efficient. I highly recommend this plumbing company."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

You can tell if a pipe is leaking behind your wall if you see bubbling, warping, water stains, mildew, or mold on the ceiling, flooring, or walls. Musty smells can also indicate a leaky pipe. Finding a leaky pipe in a wall can be challenging, so work with a pro to pinpoint the leak’s exact location.

While you shouldn’t increase the flow of your low-flow toilet by adjusting the water level in the toilet bowl set by the manufacturer, you can make the flow as efficient as possible by ensuring the rim jets under the rim are unobstructed. To do this, use a mirror to look under the rim and scrub them with a toothbrush or a small wire to clear any debris stuck in the holes. You can also watch for leaks, make sure the internal components are in good shape, and replace them if necessary.

Copper pipes are the safest type of pipe for carrying drinking water because they won't leach chemicals into your drinking water. However, for the best water quality, you should use copper pipes with lead-free joint material. The next best options for carrying drinking water are CPVC and PEX pipes.

If you use copper pipes for drinking water, you should check your water’s pH level. If it has a pH value lower than seven, you'll need to balance your water acidity with a purifier to avoid corrosion that could affect your drinking water quality.

In some cases, the answer is yes. Being licensed to work on gas lines requires additional specialized training beyond being a licensed plumber. If the plumber is also licensed as a natural gas plumber, they will be able work on natural gas lines. If the plumber is only licensed to work on water and sewer lines, then you’ll have to find another professional to do gas line work.

Installing a plumbing system is a project best left to professional plumbers. Plumbing systems involve tons of moving parts—water supply lines, pipes, drain lines, sewer connections, and connections to appliances like water heaters, washing machines, and dishwashers. Improper installation of your plumbing system can leave your house vulnerable to potential damages that could result in flooding or damage to your home’s foundation. While you can DIY your way through common plumbing problems like fixing clogged drains or leaky faucets, it’s highly recommended that you contact a plumbing professional for most of your plumbing-related tasks, especially installing the system.
