I called LC Tree Service Inc. last week and left a message. Within a couple of hours they called me back. I believe his name was Ryan (I apologize if I got your name wrong!). He was very professional over the phone and scheduled a consultation for Monday (7/28/2014).
On Monday, Ryan arrived right at the scheduled time; he was very professional and friendly. Before I could even point to the tree I am thinking of removing, Ryan pointed to the tree next to my drive way and asked whether that was the three I had told him about over the phone. I was kind of impressed by that because it showed me that he came to the consultation already prepared; this showed me just how professional he is. I proceeded to explain to him that the roots from the tree were damaging the private road where I live, and that the road needed to be repaved. Therefore, I would like to remove the tree so that the tree will not damage the newly paved road. I briefly explained to him that other arborists, with whom I had spoken, told me that the tree would not survive if that portion of the root was removed. Ryan proceeded to explain that could be the case only if a large portion of the root system under the road was removed. However, the tree would be fine if only the root that damaged the road was severed. He explained to me how wide the circumference of the root system under the tree probably is given the size of the tree, and that severing only one root would not pose that big of a problem. Additionally, Ryan suggested that I cut some of the branches and thin out the top of the tree to reduce the stress on it, which is consistent with what other arborists had told me. He added that if I were to do that, I should do it between fall and winter, which is also consistent with what other arborists had told me.
Ryan told me that trimming the tree would be much cheaper than removing it. As a costumer, I certainly appreciated his honesty about that, because he could have easily given me an expensive quote which would have allowed him to make more money. Instead, he was honest with me and advised me that going with the cheaper option would be better, safer and quicker. Another demonstration of his honesty and good will to do what is best for the customer was when the pointed out that instead of removing the big pine tree, I should probably remove the medium size palm tree I have next to my drive way, which he could do it or that I could easily do it myself too. Then he proceed to explain how I could remove the palm tree on my own and the best way to dump it. He also noted that there was another pine tree that I should consider removing before any other tree, because it was growing and rubbing against the roof of my house. He explained that sooner or later the pine tree would grow around the roof corner and make that corner part of the tree, and once that happened it would be a nightmare to remove that tree and it would cause severe damages to my roof. Again, he said that he could remove that tree for me, or that I could do it myself, and he proceed to explain to me how I could remove the tree on my won.
Overall, I was really pleased with my interaction with Ryan. Although he did not service our tree yet, he provided an outstanding costumer service and a great free consultation. Without a doubt Ryan is very knowledgeable about what he does. Additionally, he prioritizes saving trees when possible over cutting them down when it is unnecessary to do so. I really liked that about him because my family values that as well. Additionally, I really appreciated his honesty and desire to share his knowledge with costumers so they can do the job themselves if they see fit.
Thank you, Ryan, for all your great advise! I look forward to doing business with you in the future.

They were knowledgeable, professional. Got the job done cleanly at a very fair price. I will use them in future to trim my palms on a regular basis.
