"Rafael and his crew have helped me out with challenging emergency tree trimming projects twice. Both were during busy times after major weather events. He and his team are experienced, skilled, careful and efficient, and he responded immediately and showed up incredibly fast when no one else was even available. Honestly, I don't know how they do it. If I could give 6 stars I would. And he's a really nice guy."

"I recently had Lead Saw Tree Service take out a tree from my yard, and it was such a breeze. They were super easy to deal with from the moment I asked for a quote to when they showed up on time and got the job done within the schedule they promised. It made my day so much easier and stress-free. I'd definitely recommend Lead Saw Tree Service for any tree removal job."

"I am absolutely thrilled with the exceptional job performed by Progressive Tree Care today! Yesterday, Roman from the company provided a complimentary estimate that was not only reasonable but also fair, and his crew arrived promptly this morning. The team exhibited remarkable professionalism, friendliness, efficiency, and honesty. Their expertise shone through as they skillfully trimmed and skinned my palm trees, ficus trees, and efficiently removed other trees. They cleaned up the site thoroughly at the end. Having worked with numerous tree contractors over the years, I can confidently assert that Progressive Tree Care stands out as the best. I wholeheartedly recommend this company and will undoubtedly hire them again next year!"

"I called Alejandro on Saturday. We made an appointment for Sunday and he showed up early. He said he could do the job on Tuesday but then called back later in the day Sunday to say he could get it done on Monday. He showed up right on time, did exactly what I asked him to do, cleaned up and left my back yard looking way better than it had before.
I'm going to get an estimate from him on removing an even bigger palm tree that I've hated since we moved in. I plan on using him again later this summer.

"I had a landscaping design/build company until illness kept me from continuing. I felt like I was in good and knowledgeable hands when Rock came out for the estimate - he is an arborist so he understood exactly what I wanted. His crew showed up on time and were very professional with a very capable foreman who interpreted Rock's job description accurately, so the job was done perfectly and the place was clean afterwards."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Your neighbor is not in a good position to know if your trees are truly dead or pose any kind of danger. That’s why hiring an arborist or tree service expert can be such an important part of the process. If the trees are still alive and don’t pose any threat, you’re in the clear (but you may want to document and photograph everything in case events turn sour down the road).

But if a tree is visibly dead and near the property line, you should remove it to be safe. If a dead tree falls on a neighbor’s property, they may have grounds to sue for negligence. If any branches on trees have died, it’s a good idea to cut them back for similar reasons.

A tree can grow back from its stump, but full regrowth is unlikely (especially for more stubborn conifer trees). Instead, trees are more likely to send up a number of shoots from the dead stump, which will try to develop into primary stems over time. In other words, it will start to look increasingly bushy. The goal of killing and drying out a tree stump is to prevent that from happening, as well as make the stump easier to completely remove.

We don’t recommend DIY tree trimming for a few different reasons. First, the tools required to trim a tree can be costly, up to $1,100 or more, for the ladders and specialized saws needed.

Safety is another concern, especially when working with more mature trees. As a guideline, you should only DIY tree trimming when branches are less than two inches in diameter. Any more, and the safety risk becomes too high, which could lead to catastrophe. For this job, it’s safest to let a tree-trimming professional assess the work needed.

Maple trees start the growing season by developing small groups of red flowers where the tree's fruit, the samaras, will appear in the coming weeks. Later in spring, the samaras, which many call whirlybirds or similar names, develop into single-winged seed carriers that spin when falling or drifting in the wind.

Early signs that a tree is struggling include premature leaf shedding and lesions or other strange markings. Peeling bark, dead or rotten branches on the ground, and a conspicuous lack of leaves can all be signs that a tree has started to die. By the time a tree starts leaning, it’s usually too far gone to save.
