"The gentleman who came was very friendly and  quick to do what he came for.  He explained some things that will help us perhaps in the future and noted that our plumbing was all running well and  looked good!  I would recommend this company and this technician!

"I had a running toilet. I called Gorilla Plumbing and spoke to Mickey Romero. He came over immediately and we discussed options. I decided to go with the toilet replacement altogether and angle valve replacement as well. Mickey provided everything, did an immaculate job and he even cleaned up the entire area as well when he finished. Very professional, very easy, very smooth. 10/10 experience. I will be calling Gorilla Plumbing again and requesting for Mickey if I have any other plumbing problems/questions/concerns."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Pay attention to weather patterns. In CA, roof leaks correlate directly with heavy rain, while plumbing leaks persist regardless of the weather. Foundation cracks stem from soil movement, earthquakes, or a slab leak. A professional will perform a pressure test to confirm a slab leak. Persistent mold in bathrooms points directly to an active moisture source requiring plumbing repair rather than ambient humidity.

Helpful?

In La Mesa, older homes hide corroded galvanized pipes or deteriorated cast iron drain lines that require full replacement instead of simple repairs. You will also encounter local permit fees and required compliance upgrades. San Diego County's hard water causes hidden scale buildup inside pipes, while expansive clay soils shift and damage underground lines, adding unexpected work to your plumbing project.

Helpful?

Keep children and pets away from open trenches in La Mesa yards, as clay soils collapse unexpectedly. Flush your cold water lines thoroughly after any plumbing work to clear dislodged scale. For homes built before 1986, block off work areas to prevent exposure to lead solder or asbestos dust. Set your newly installed water heater to 120 degrees Fahrenheit to prevent scalding.

Helpful?

Start by verifying local permit requirements and checking for active water restrictions in La Mesa. Request a camera inspection of your sewer lateral before interior work begins. For underground work, contact California's underground utility notification service ahead of time. Hire a licensed contractor and plan your water shutoffs carefully to minimize disruptions to your neighbors during the plumbing process.

Helpful?

Look for mismatched pipe materials or non-standard fittings, which indicate unpermitted plumbing modifications. Spot repairs on galvanized lines mean full repiping is necessary. Visible green or white corrosion at joints shows improper connections that corrode rapidly in La Mesa's hard water. Check your water heater for proper double-strap seismic bracing, as CA regulations require this to protect your home during earthquakes.
