"Victor was the most professional company that came to give me a bid. He was the only one who gave me a detailed written estimate. He took the time to completely ck my sprinklers made sure of what exactly needed to be repaired or replaced. Planted new flowers, plants & transplanted for me. All new soil where needed. The price was good. I would have been disappointed with any other company. He's charged me a good price for my monthly service. I will only hire him to do the back 1/2 acre. I highly recommend his service."

Customers say: True professional

"From the top we want to say how thrilled we are with our landscape project. This was a complex and lengthy project, mostly due to the enormous amount of rain we had this past season. Our entire yard was completely renovated â front, back and both sides. It included taking out a side hill along the house and grading a hill in our front yard to accomplish a complex paver design layout. Dougâ s crew did everything from building walls, pavers, stone caps, stacked stone pillars & siding, 2 water features, firepit, plants, irrigation, drains, artificial turf, etc. We love our new outdoor living space and so does our neighbors â who regularly comment as they pass by on walks. Doug was professional, reasonable and very timely with his responsiveness. He stayed in touch throughout the project â his crew was extremely capable and courteous. Multiple neighbors commented on how nice the crew was. The onsite project leader was very experienced and had a firm grasp on all parts of the project. He was knowledgeable and clearly wanted to make us happy and he accomplished that. As with any major construction project there will always be some frustrations, whether it is with the weather not cooperating or with discovery of needed changes during the demo and construction process. These issues were dealt with professionally â and in the end, Doug never forgot who the customer was. We utilized a designer for our process (which Doug recommended). Del Mar Landscaping crew was able to execute the vision of the design even as changes and challenges came up. We are very pleased with the hard work and are very satisfied customers!"

"What a pleasure to work with a professional. Various conversations about types of sod, decorating, costs and time estimates. Suggested things I would have not thought of, I was going to buy a plant for the corner of the lawn, he said he would pick one up, was perfect. Color and type to do all I wanted. He was on time every morning. Was respectful and friendly with my dogs. I joked with Wes and said that when I came home I walked out front to check the address because the backyard was so BEAUTIFUL. Thank you Wes and Boney's Landscape for an incredible job. You are highly recommended."

Landscaping questions, answered by experts

The best time to plant a tree is in the spring, so the roots have time to grow into the surrounding soil before winter sets in. Some people recommend planting in the late fall. However, planting in the spring reduces the stress on the tree, as it will be emerging from dormancy, giving it the full spring and summer ahead to acclimate and put down roots into the soil.

Multiple rules of thumb exist when discussing tree planting. When planting a tree, the best rule of thumb is to provide it with everything it needs to survive and thrive in its new environment. That may mean learning about the type of tree you're planting and studying the best methods of taking care of it before purchasing and planting.

There are many factors to consider when building an in-ground concrete pool. This includes the pool’s primary purpose (relaxation or exercise) if you live in a warm or cold climate (how often it’ll be used), and if you have the budget for chemical treatments and pool maintenance. In-ground pools are often more costly than aboveground pools, but they’re considered more luxurious and hold more value.

While both fall and spring are suitable times of the year for planting trees, fall is typically the better option. Soil stays warm long enough to allow tree roots to establish in fall before they go dormant, while spring might give way to intense summer heat before spring-planted trees have time to grow strong roots.

There are some instances when you can use extra drywall in your garden. Ideally, unused scraps of new drywall are best for amending soil without the concern of additional chemicals or mold. However, drywall with paint, mold, or potential asbestos requires specialized disposal by a professional and should be kept out of your garden.
