Customers say: Quick response

"John N Eddie were great to work with. They were both friendly and highly professional throughout the entire process. They used professional equipment to complete the tree removal and stump grinding efficiently. Whether we were talking before the work started or during the job, they were always courteous, knowledgeable, and professional. They arrived around 8:15 a.m. and completed the entire project by approximately 1:00 p.m. After removing the trees and grinding the stumps, they thoroughly cleaned the work area. They also repaired my fence after finishing the job, as they had needed to open it to access and remove a tree in the backyard. I was very pleased with the quality of their work and attention to detail. I would definitely recommend John N Eddie to anyone looking for a professional and reliable company for tree removal and stump grinding."

"Rene came out to provide an estimate and was back later in the day to do the work with his crew. They were prompt and completed the work efficiently, will definitely hire them again (these trees need seasonal trimming every year)."

"Shawn is a professional! He arrived on time--punctuality is a big deal for me. He patiently listened to my tree issues, and clearly understood what I wanted the end results to be. He explained that his method of tree-trimming protects the tree's integrity and fits what nature intended, and not alter the tree in some artificial way. I like that. Shawn returned as scheduled, ready to work, reduced the overall height of the Red Oak tree, lowered the canopy, and cut back lower limbs away from the house. He thinned, trimmed, and snipped the tree, literally limb-by-limb, to allow air and light to pass through the tree. The finished product looks like a picture of nature. What was an overgrown undisciplined tree, is now an attractive, well-behaved (and happier) Red Oak. In terms of the worksite, not a twig or a leaf or any other sign of tree trimming was left. Shawn's cleanup was thorough...and I like that, too. When seasonally correct, Shawn will return to do some clipping and trimming on the oversized plum tree, and I know he will do an outstanding job.

"The two 20 year old maple trees in my front yard needed trimming especially near the roof of the house and wires. The tall palm in my backyard needed the many dead fronds removed. The crew arrived promptly and went right to work. I was amazed how efficient and friendly they were explaining in detail what needed to be done. The cleanup was the best I had ever experienced. I would highly recommend J&T Landscaping based on my experience. Great work at competitive prices."

"Jobs always go well with Jerry.  We will initially get together to go over any and all things that need to be done, this time it was both inside and outside and determine what outside jobs Jerry would take care of.  Example is I needed some tree work but that's one area that Jerry does not venture into...however, he does a lot of other jobs.  We separated the jobs into inside and outside and scheduled inside work to be done first.  We then scheduled the outside.
Jerry has done many jobs, just as fix my brick patio where tree roots had lifted the brick and made it unstable (completed...perfect), straightened concrete yard trim where roots had also begun lifting and tilting the concrete (completed...perfect), inspected my attic and determined the work could be done differently and not as expensive (to be done), built a new gate where the existing one was literally rotting away, replaced door handles throughout house to levers type, repaired areas in sheet rock in house that needed some attention.  Jerry does almost everything and he is always here as scheduled.  The work is done so quickly....seems before I even realize that is what they are working on.  I have recommended Jerry to two friends that have already used his services.  They have informed me that Jerry is now their contractor/handyman of choice.  I have now also recommended him to my neighbor and they are anxious to use his services/skills.  He's the best and very easy to work with...

Arborists questions, answered by experts

A tree can grow back from its stump, but full regrowth is unlikely (especially for more stubborn conifer trees). Instead, trees are more likely to send up a number of shoots from the dead stump, which will try to develop into primary stems over time. In other words, it will start to look increasingly bushy. The goal of killing and drying out a tree stump is to prevent that from happening, as well as make the stump easier to completely remove.

Whether tree roots will continue to grow after a tree has been cut down depends on the species. Some tree roots will eventually die because they can no longer get nutrients through photosynthesis. However, other species that reproduce through root sprouts can continue to grow and produce new sprouts for seven years or more. For example, the roots of elms, ficus, and willows tend to regrow aggressively, while the roots of pines, oaks, and maples will typically die. To determine if a root system is still active, look for new sprouts on the old trunk, stump, or any exposed roots.

The safest way to cut down a tree is to make sure you’re completely prepared and have done all the necessary safety checks, including double-checking your equipment is in good working order, you have plenty of clearance to fell the tree, you’re wearing all the safety gear, and you have a partner to help you (who should also be wearing safety gear).

Poison oak is similar to poison ivy in that it's in the same family of plants. Poison oak is identifiable by its rounded-off leaves and hairy leaf texture. Tree-climbing varieties live primarily in western states while low-growing poison oak bushes occupy the eastern states. Treat poison oak like poison ivy to get rid of it permanently.

Yes, it is essential to confirm that any tree service company you hire is properly insured before they begin work. Tree removal, trimming, and pruning are dangerous jobs, and proper insurance protects you, your home, and the company from liability in case of accidents or damage. Look for a company that carries both general liability and workers’ compensation insurance, and do not hire one that cannot provide proof of coverage. When browsing for professionals, you can look for indicators like an “Angi Approved” badge, which signifies that the business meets standards like holding applicable licenses and passing a background check. Keep in mind that a license is a legal requirement to operate, while certifications are typically voluntary.
