"Dillon was so attentive to our needs and installed five new detectors as we requested. He was very efficient and provided excellent customer service. He was also cautious and careful while working and moving the ladder from room to room."

"Matt came to our house to give an estimate of running a new electric line from the meter to an internal location. He provided an estimate in a timely manner via email and also offered a first-timer Angie's List discount. It also made it more convenient that he was willing to come out on a Sunday since we both have busy work schedules during the week.
On the day of service, he came out promptly and finished the work within the time window promised. (Before he got started, I changed the location of the electrical box, and he accommodated without complaint or excuses.) Every question I asked indicated that he had done the job to code. Before leaving, I mentioned that we were considering upgrading our electrical panel, and he also gave us some advice about timing with SDG&E and the city (how long things take).
Matt is a professional. I like to try out a contractor with a small job rather than risking a big job on someone I don't know. I appreciate how prompt and excellent he was, treating a very small job as if it were important. As I called around to get multiple quotes, I definitely felt like some professional electricians thought my job was too small to respond quickly, and other small-time electricians who did respond quickly made me doubt whether they would do things to code/by the book. I'm glad I found Matt, and I would hire him again and recommend him to others.

"The services went very well. Charles showed up the same day that I called him. He quickly determined what needed to be done and was able to perform the electrical services I needed. He was very polite, used a mask when he was in our place and also was a very polite, pleasant person. I thought his charges were very reasonable. I would highly recommend him."

"Target Electric Enterprises Inc replaced and upgraded my 50 year old main electric panel and I’m so glad I selected them for the job! Sean was responsive from day 1 and kept me fully informed throughout the process. My job required installing a new underground cable also, which involved several interactions with SDGE and City of San Diego, and Sean and Steve very capably handled every step with skill and efficiency. In the field, Steve has extensive expertise and obviously takes great pride in getting the job done right. Their pricing was also very reasonable, and I totally recommend them for any electric job, small or large!"

"I have called Losacco, for two jobs now. The first, back in July, Marc installed a new 50A 240V service to the electric stove replacing my old propane cooktop. That job went great: 1 day, in and out. Very cool! The second time: today, we called him because most of the lights in the house were flickering and sometimes shutting off. He diagnosed the issue as the A phase in my breaker box was dropping out. He called SDG&E and told them to check the line. Turns out, the transformer on the pole nearest me was outputting a fluctuating voltage. SDG&E swapped the transformer, and I don't have to replace anything. Total Win! I highly recommend Marc Losacco and Losacco Electric! Be sure to compliment him on his work van. He's quite proud of it."

Ev Charger Installer questions, answered by experts

Yes, electricians must be licensed, certified, and in most cases, insured. Licensing requirements vary by state and local municipality, but most U.S. municipalities require electricians to hold an electrical contractor’s license. It's always a good practice to confirm requirements with your local municipality. Even if licensing is not required in your area, hiring a licensed and experienced electrician often leads to a better end result.

A license is a legal requirement to operate a business and is necessary for pulling project permits. Certifications, on the other hand, are typically voluntary and demonstrate a certain level of expertise. In some cases, a certified electrician may send an apprentice or journeyman to perform the work, but they must operate under a primary electrician who holds the proper license.

Before hiring, you should verify the electrician's license, insurance coverage, and any third-party certifications. You can use Angi’s contractor licensing search to confirm a pro's license status. Additionally, businesses with the “Angi Approved” badge on our platform meet strict criteria, including having the required state and local licenses, passing a background check, and maintaining a high average rating.

Charging your EV every night isn’t always necessary. Most EVs have sufficient range to cover daily commutes without needing a nightly charge, particularly if you have a Level 2 charger. Charging once every few days or as needed can prolong the battery’s lifespan.

Local electricians with experience in your area understand the local building codes, which is very important when doing new electrical work. They also have experience with the kind of electrical problems homes in your location may have, and even the components that were used in the original construction, which leads them to make faster and better decisions.

Having a Level 2 charger can increase your home value, especially as electric vehicles become more popular. Homebuyers who have EVs or are interested in getting one will appreciate the convenience of a ready-to-use charging station. The added value can vary based on location and buyer preferences.

Yes, you should get a quote or an estimate from an electrician. Most electricians offer free estimates or quotes. When getting quotes, do your research and verify each electrician’s license. Get quotes from three different electricians to compare. If the prices or items listed appear different on the quotes, ask the electrician to clarify. Learning as much as you can about the electrical work you want done will help you get the most accurate estimate.
