"Walter and Glen at Protect Your Home Group with ADT are the best people to talk to in terms of security alarm. Being a locksmith myself I know how important it is to deal with the right people. I referred a lot of customers to them and so far they are happy with their service. I myself got one for my house. Thank you for a consistent service and great deal."

Small jobs welcome

"Alex fixed my door fast and efficiently. He is very knowledgeable and is very pleasant to work with. He arrived to the job site on time and ready to go. He said he had learned his trade from his father and is working on getting his contractors license. I will hire him again for any other projects I might need help with."

"I'm very pleased with John being willing to come out and take care of a problem at no charge over a year after he installed the lock. He was very responsive to my concerns and was willing to come out within a day or two. He came out on time and was able to fix the problem quickly. I will definitely call him the next time I need a locksmith.

"Exemplary customer service @ FrontPoint.  Every representative I spoke to throughout the process was prompt, honest, helpful, and not aggressive with making an immediate sale.  True to their claim, we were able to set up our home security system very quickly, within a half hour or so.  The tech, especially the control keypad, isn't fancy or cutting edge, but it seems to get the job done (alerts whenever a door/window is open, quick alarm activation).  All in all, no complaints and happy with the simple process to give our family more peace of mind.

Locksmiths questions, answered by experts

There are several ways to add security to a sliding glass door. To start, install a rod or deadbolt lock instead of the flip-lock that comes standard with most sliding glass doors. Add a sensor to the door and monitor any activity through your home security system.

Finally, installing shatterproof window film will help keep the structural integrity of the glass if it cracks.

You can cut a door knob off using a sawzall, but you risk causing additional damage to the door itself. You’ll also need to completely replace the door knob, costing you extra money and another trip to the hardware store.

Newer, electric-powered door locks generally have a life span of five years or less. That’s thanks, in large part, to a phenomenon called planned obsolescence, in which products are programmed to need replacing after a certain amount of time. That’s also why older, manual, push-key locksets can last up to 30 years with regular cleanings and maintenance. When it does come time for a new set-up, know that the cost to change locks ranges from $130 to $500 on average.

Lock bumping is a technique locksmiths use to quickly and quietly open a pin tumbler lock, typically found in most types of deadbolts. It involves inserting a specially crafted key, or bump key, into the lock and tapping or "bumping" it with a mallet or similar tool. The force applied causes the lock's pins to jump momentarily, allowing the lock to be turned and opened. Unfortunately, thieves also use this technique to break into homes. Luckily, products like a deadbolt strap will fortify your lock.

It depends on what type of keyless entry it is and if the locksmith has the proper tools to remove a keypad entry lock since some are more advanced than others. However, locksmiths can typically work around keyless entries to vehicles, so it depends on what type of keyless entry system needs opening.
