"Our sewer main busted and Oak Plumbing’s master plumbers Matt & Mike did a great job at digging down over 7ft to replace the broken section and also upgraded my single sewer main clean out which was nearly rusted through to a dual solid ABS clean out. And also I would like to add that Nate also did a great job at identifying our problem! Thanks guys! You’re AWESOME!"

"Casey was very kind and understanding of my needs when calling on a Sunday.. He was honest and asked specific questions to determine the urgency to fix the problem and avoid additional charges on a Sunday. He was punctual and solved our problem in an hour. "We are incredibly grateful to Pedro Galvan and his team for stepping in during a moment of urgent need. When our hot water system suddenly failed, leaving us without hot water for daily essentials, Pedro responded with a level of professionalism, clarity, and compassion that is truly rare. From the very first call, Pedro was attentive, transparent about pricing, and committed to solving the problem quickly. He provided us with the most cost-effective and honest quote out of several we obtained—and, even more importantly, was able to come almost immediately when others could not. His workmanship was precise, efficient, and tidy. It was clear we were in the hands of someone who genuinely takes pride in his craft. In a world where so many service professionals overpromise and underdeliver, Pedro Galvan delivers exactly what he promises—and does so with warmth, integrity, and a deep respect for his clients. We recommend him without hesitation to anyone needing plumbing services."

"These guys are the best. Did a partial home repipe of both the water and drain pipes. Other plumbers tried to upsell us by replacing newer pipes and the water heater. Ray and Alex just did the repiping that was necessary. Excellent communication, friendly and on time. Even worked in tough, rainy conditions. Ray owns his own business and takes pride in his work. Recommended him to all my neighbors."

"Elsy ( I believe she was the plumber from your company via Angi) arrived as scheduled, on Saturday, 09/28/2024. She attempted to repair my garbage disposal unit but was unable to do so as the unit's wiring was worn out. I advised the unit is 40 yrs old. She recommended to purchase a new one. We made a trip together to the local Home Depot store and I purchased the same brand s she recommended. She installed it in record time (within the 2.5 hrs) and completed the job. She also cleaned the work space and carried the old one to my recycling bin. Very satisfied with her work. Also, I want to know if I will receive a billing statement for my records? Thank you for your time & assistance."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Pipes most often burst during winter and early spring because those seasons experience the coldest temperatures that can freeze pipes. Pipes typically begin to freeze when the outside temperature falls below 20 degrees Fahrenheit—but it’s not a hard and fast rule.

The largest risk is any period of time when outdoor temperatures fall below freezing for six hours or more. That’s an average winter night in many areas of the United States, so it’s best to take precautions before winter begins, like insulating your pipes.

To find a leak in a small pool, place a few drops of food coloring in a random area. If the food coloring flows out, you've found your leak. However, this can be time-consuming and impractical in larger pools. The best option is to hire a pool repair specialist with ultrasonic equipment.

PEX pipes last up to 50 years on average, though they often last longer. This lifespan is comparable to that of galvanized steel, which ranges from 40 to 100 years. However, PEX piping is less likely to crack or break due to temperature changes. Due to that and the fact that it's easier to work with, many plumbers and DIYers are choosing PEX tubes over traditional metal piping.

Yes, frozen underground pipes can burst. When water inside the pipe freezes, it expands, increasing pressure on the pipe walls. If the pressure becomes too great, it can cause the pipe to crack or burst, leading to significant water damage when the ice eventually thaws.

Plumbing leaks are usually not covered by homeowners insurance because the problems are avoidable with proper maintenance. In most cases, you’ll have to pay out of pocket for a fix. However, if the leak is a direct result of a natural disaster, like an earthquake that cracked a pipe or a house fire, your insurance may cover the repairs.
