"Everything went well. They use drop cloth on floor and kept everything spotless. It is like taking your car for a service and they find some hidden problems that you are not aware of, but it ends up costing more money than the original estimate. However, it gave me a peace of mind that I know my fireplace and chimney are safe to use.

"We bought an unfinished home and needed someone to assemble the woodburning fireplace that came with the house, and then convert it to propane.
It wasn't an easy job, but Gary stuck with it until it was completed, working around the stone masons as they finished the mantle and stone placements. He then gave us advise on which type of log set to buy and recommended a store to see them in action. After we bought the logs and burners, he came back and installed the burner, set up the logs and turned on the fireplace. It was magic! He then cleaned and checked second fireplace, set up the logs, and turned this one on. Everything went smoothly.
We had been to our local hardware store, talked to different people, had a couple of other fireplace experts over to the house, but no one seemed to be able convert the woodburning fireplace to propane except for Gary. We did have a couple of other bids that were in the multiple $1000s that didn't make sense to us. Gary was the only one who truly understood what work we needed. We enjoyed working with him on this project.

"No issues. He had before and after photographs from both the roof and the ground of all of the areas work was performed. We have a live birds nest in one end of the canopy that I will wait until the youngin's are out and I will remove the nest and install what he couldn't at the time (or if it is too difficult, he said he would return to install them. He left me the parts).
Pictures showed all of the work except how clean the gutters are because we can't get a camera in there. All roof fixtures have fresh sealant, the shingles were replaced and the bird blocking cages were installed.
All work was as promised and required 2 visits since this unit is 11 years old and the previous owners never had this done. I am very happy with the work....the rainy season will tell more.
Both the service writer and work performer were very professional and polite. I will use them again, if needed.

"After the large windstorm we had here in Lancaster, CA my roof suffered some major wind damage. I called them and they set me up with someone to quote us for the job. The price seemed fair and once I had signed the contract they scheduled the repair for the end of the week. The work was done well, and the employees were very professional. I was pleased with their punctuality, and the fact that they cleaned up after themselves. I would recommend Western Pacific Roofing Corp. to all my friends and family. my rof."

"After calling companies close to our mountain location we contacted Hugo at A-1 and he offered to come a much longer distance at a lower price. He overcame some obstacles the way our fireplace was built to get the chimney clean and also replaced the worn out chimney cap. He was on time and very careful to control the soot coming into the home. We recommend this company as professional and fairly priced. And working with Hugo was an especially pleasant experience.

Chimney caps may be installed by a few different professionals, including a chimney sweep or a mason that specializes in fireplaces and chimneys. A gas fireplace technician is the best person to install a chimney cap on a gas log fireplace vent to be sure the cap is appropriate for the application.
A chimney cap costs about $300 on average. The prices range from about $75 to $1,000, depending on the material, size, any repairs needed, and if your chimney cap requires custom fabrication. Chimney caps are usually made from galvanized steel, copper, or stainless steel. Additional costs may include hiring a chimney sweep to clean the chimney before a cap is installed.
Yes, it’s worth capping a chimney. Here are several reasons to install a chimney cap:
Keep out rain, snow, wildlife, and other debris
Help prevent chimney fires
Reduce your chimney’s exposure to moisture
Maintain your chimney flue liner
Help reduce energy bills by helping regulate your home’s temperature
Typically, a chimney cap will last from three to 25 years. This wide range is due to variables like climate, the material the cap is made from, and how often you use your fireplace. Regular inspections and maintenance can help extend the life of your chimney cap.
The best style of chimney cap for a brick chimney is one that fits tightly around the brick top of the chimney. The cap should have a screen to fully enclose it to keep animals out. The best materials include stainless steel, copper, or aluminum that fit tightly or are custom fabricated for a perfect fit on your chimney.
