"Dennis from Panico called me within 5 minutes after submitting my issue on HomeAdvisor! After talking with Dennis, we set up an appointment for them to pump out our Septic tank. Final arraignments were made through Lauren who was very personable! The technician crew arrived who very professional and personable also! They explained the workings of a septic system s to me in detail (as a retired engineer I love detailed explanations). Pumping took less than an hour, but it turned out we also had a blockage in our drain somewhere suspected close to the septic tank waste inlet. It was decided to use a small snake and enter through the waste dump in the septic tank. The clog was found about 8 feet into the drain and was cleared in about 15 minutes. This saved a couple hundred dollars instead of removing the toilet as normal procedure and running a snake that direction. We were very happy the problem was solved quickly saving us money. These folks are VERY honest and enjoy the work they do! I would recommend them to anyone; they are an outstanding awesome company!"

"Mac's Plumbing is wonderful. The prices are lower than the competition and the work was exceptional. Mario cleared out our main sewer line which resolved minor issues before they became major ones. I would recommend Mac's Plumbing to everyone. Go here before a business like Roto-Rooter. Thank you Mario Garcia. I was wonderful doing business with your. Fast and efficient."

Septic Tanks questions, answered by experts

A septic tank riser features a base ring that you need to install flush to the opening of the septic tank. After thoroughly cleaning the opening of the tank, fit the base ring over the opening and use a butyl sealant rope to create an airtight seal with the tank’s rim. Cut the riser rings to the appropriate height and stack them on the base ring. Then, install the riser lid. This task might be taken on by an experienced DIYer, but you should always call a septic tank professional if you are unsure of your skills.

How do you set your well’s pressure tank? All you need to do is first drain the tank of water and find the pressure switch. Remove the switch cover and adjust the switch with a wrench—clockwise to increase water pressure, and counter-clockwise to reduce it. Each complete turn of the nut on the switch should equal 2.5 psi. Once this is done, replace the switch cover. All that’s left is to adjust the pressure of the tank itself using an air compressor and a tire gauge to support the new setting.

You should pump your septic tank once every two to four years for a family of four, depending on your septic tank size. You should pump a 1,000-gallon septic tank every two years, while a 1,500-gallon tank should be pumped every four years. Water usage also affects how often you should pump your septic tank. If you notice slow drains, foul smells, or gurgling sounds from your drains, you should pump your septic tank as soon as possible.

A cistern works by collecting rainwater from your gutters and downspouts and storing it in a holding tank. The holding tank can be installed above or below ground, and the size will depend on your household needs. The stored water can then be used for household tasks, watering your garden, and even for drinking water.

If your well pump is running continuously (meaning without turning off or stopping), it's a sign that your well pump is starting to break down. The length of time your well pump should cycle is dependent on many factors, like the tank size, pressure setting, and even the amount of water in your well. Generally, your well pump should cycle, or go from running to not running every few minutes.
