"Very professional. Sean the owner came to our house at a time convenient for us, explained and made recommendations with no obligation, we hired them the next day with no hesitation. We appreciated his honesty and knowledge. Sean even insulated our doggie door for free! They cleaned up after the job was done. He really delivered what he promised and more. Impressive work ethics. We are very glad we were able to find a great company to seal the ducts, blow in insulation in the attic and seal our doggie door. Highly recommend aes."

"Banker Insulation provided blown-in attic insulation over my existing insulation bringing it to R-38 value. They also added barriers and insulation over my garage area, which I recently added HVAC to it. They blew in insulation into the garage walls as well. This was hard and messy, but they did an excellent job! They were fast, professional, and cleaned up the areas well. I would not hesitate to use them in the future."

"The installers showed up on time, were very courteous, completed the job within a few hours, cleaned up and were gone. They did an very good job of installing the insulation and now I can't wait to see my bills go down. The cost of the project was a little more than I wanted to spend but I see it was worth it. It was something I couldn't do myself. I would recommend."

"What I was hoping to do didn't make sense so I'm pursuing a do it your self option. I spoke to Jeff Banker personally and he was very helpful, told me my idea didn't make sense since spray on insulation generally looks kind of messy and only makes sense for locations that aren't normally seen. He offered me other ideas and one was simple and easy enough that I'll just do it myself. I will keep him in mind though if/when I decide to spray foam elsewhere in my house. Thanks!"

"Our modular home was damaged by an undetected water leak under the kitchen sink.  The damage extended from the living/dining area through the kitchen and bathroom.  Repair started with mold mitigation by a specialist and then the tear out and re-build by Carl Smith (ACRA).  All of this was done via telephone as our summer home is in Montana and the damaged residence in Arizona.  Damage included all flooring, all lower cabinetry and dry wall in all the areas.  In other words, we started with bare studs and floor joists.
I located ACRA through Angie's List and after interviewing them, along with two other contractors, I went with ACRA.  They immediately did an extensive assessment of the damage and concluded that the insurance settlement offered was not sufficient.  Carl then worked with the insurance company to arrive at a fair settlement.  I have to add that the claim process became quite involved but Carl did not back away.  In fact, he was a bulldog in pursuing a fair solution for us and went well beyond what one would expect of a contractor.
Finally, the work in the house was completed promptly and on time once an insurance settlement was reached.  Most of the work was straightforward but ACRA worked to see that all of it was done to very high quality standards including extra bracing and insulation in the floors.  The cabinets presented quite a challenge as they had to match the upper cabinets which had not been damaged but the ACRA cabinetmaker did a wonderful job in matching and the cabinets are actually better now than when new and actually impressive to view.  The details of finishing up the project such as painting, trim work around the dish was, etc. was nicely done."

"Roberto was the technician and he was very professional, polite, and personable. He inspected the rest of our system and told us things that needed to be changed or repaired. He showed me pictures of everything. Everything he told me about was accurate. He quoted me a price for R38 insulation , Some of our ducts were plastic and he recommended them to be changed. I agreed completely and didn't know they were plastic. I would have had them done the work but I had no price comparisons to make and besides I didn't have the money right then. So he just finished the vent cleaning and left his card. He did a great job on the vent cleaning and was happy with the work."

Insulation questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can install insulation behind drywall yourself, but only if your walls are not finished. If your studs are exposed, installing fiberglass insulation in roll or batt form is very straightforward and just requires a few tools and some safety equipment. If your walls are already finished and you’re looking to add insulation, it’s better to hire a professional, as you’ll likely need blown-in insulation, which can be dangerous to work with and a challenge to get into the proper areas in your wall voids.

You should not use spray foam insulation in several specific areas. Avoid applying it in spaces exposed to high temperatures, such as near electrical boxes or recessed lighting, unless the foam is specifically rated for such use. Applying foam near electrical boxes can damage the wiring, and using it too close to lightboxes or recessed lights creates a potential fire hazard. Additionally, do not use spray foam in areas prone to shifting or movement, as this can lead to cracks and gaps in the insulation. Finally, open-cell foam is unsuitable for use below ground or in areas exposed to moisture because it can absorb water, which compromises its insulating effectiveness.

Spray foam insulation doesn’t do well around heat sources. Therefore, You can use spray foam insulation to seal around HVAC boots that penetrate through the drywalls or around where wrapped ducts connect to the boots, but we don’t recommend using spray foam insulation to encapsulate your air ducts. Spray foam insulation on air ducts is also less effective compared to duct wraps.

Yes, cladding can help insulate your home by adding an additional layer to the exterior walls, which can minimize heat loss and enhance energy efficiency. However, it's essential to select cladding materials that include insulation for optimal results, as cladding without built-in insulation won't make nearly as much of a difference.

Glass fibers are often used in HEPA filters because of their high efficiency, durability, and thermal stability. Some HEPA filters are made with synthetic fibers, but they may not be as effective. While there is some fiberglass shedding, as long as the HEPA filter is intact and not cut open, the amount of fiberglass released by a HEPA filter is well below the breathable particulate matter.
