"For the initial consultation Mr. Varela arrived on time. He took time to listen to the whole story about my roof and the failed attempts to fix a leak I had going directly into my kitchen. The main priority was established to fix the leak in the roof before anymore damage was done. Later the metal roof was installed and I am very pleased with my new roof! Mr. Varela and his crew are all very professional and very courteous. The workers always asked permission to access areas where this was a gate and when finished you couldn't find a scrap anywhere. "This is the second time I have needed their help (the first being more than five years ago for fairly major repair of the track of my sliding glass door - which went well, by the way, which is of course why I hired them again!)... In June, I spoke with Herb initially about this job, and he provided very straightforward info up front about how they do things, which was good because it had been so long since I hired them. He was very understanding about my need to ensure my tenants that no one would come to the door, for their privacy, esp. given the pandemic. On the scheduled day, July 1, Chris showed up within our agreed-on time window to begin work. First, Chris went up and promptly assessed the damage, and then consulted with me. The patching of the leaking corner "L" joint of the gutter was a clear path as I predicted, though it would be some extra work to clean out my previous failed attempt to patch it with the wrong material. As to the damaged fascia boards below, my initial thought had been that at least two boards would need replacing (see my two before photos from Sept.). However, Chris advised against that since it would require complete detachment of the metal porch awning/roof extension to do that properly. He said that could be done, but it would be very costly, so he advised careful patching of the fascia as an alternative. I agreed to it, he went to get materials, came back, did the work, and it turned out looking really good - much better than I thought it could at the outset. [Several days later, my tenant painted over the area after the patch compound was thoroughly dry, and at that point, it was hard to even tell anything had been done there.] My experiences with American Handyman - so far only two, but five years apart - have been very good. They've been very professional, and I thought the pricing was fair considering the time it takes to do this work. I will call them first next time I need something done!"

"Amazing! Adam, Ethen, Dan and Kage are Amazing installers they were so professional. Clean I might add. We had them installed right before Easter not a huge job but, a decent 31 windows on a 1980 home! It was like they popped them in and out! Magic. I would not recommend any other company!"

"I have no idea how long this roof is going to last......I was told by TWO owners that I would have a 10 year warranty. When I made my last payment, they told me they would not give me a receipt at the time, (never had that happen before) it would be mailed to me along with the warranty. My bad for believing what they told me.......it is a 5 YEAR warranty.....by the 10th year I am paying 90% of the repairs. I could have had a 25 year warranty with shingles. Also I chose this way-more-expensive roofing rather than shingles because I didn't want the mess of taking shingles off (bad experience in the past). Well, little did I know they use the cheapest Styrofoam on the planet.....I had pieces of white styrofoam all over my gravel yard, and I am still finding it. They did come out twice to clean up, but if I wanted a mess I would have gone with shingles at half the cost. They also knew this, and never mentioned this would happen. Also where it rolls over the roof and is attached looks crappy in my opinion. They did try to make it look better but I will have to paint it. Shingles....no. However, on the good side, it does seem to keep my house cooler, as white is the only color they have and it reflects the sun. BUT if the roof only lasts 5 years, well any savings from cooling will not make a difference. I gave them 2 stars because I believe they lied to me about the warranty. So if you do business with them, ASK BEFORE YOU BUY! I guess I just trust people too much."

"The job was bid and completed within about a 1 week - here is the time frame. 1. The roofing job was bid by Jim Viberg, the company president.. 2. Several days later, a crew of 5 was on-site removing and stacking tile and removing the underlayment. Next came a crew of 3 or 4 and installed new CDX where required and started installing a self adhering fiberglass underlayment, new batts and the roof tiles. 3. The final clean-up included going over the yard with a huge magnet to pick up any nails. We had rain a couple of weeks ago.................NO LEAKS. You can depend on this company and the price quoted was what we paid."

"After meeting with Kathy Nieto, we really hit it off. She offered ideas, adopted our ideas, and is great to work with. It was a real collaborative effort. When minor issues came up during the project, they were listened to and corrected. The team is incredibly responsive. In terms of budget, we did not want contractor grade, we wanted solid high/mid-range specifications. We made significant changes to our budget, primarily due to changes that we requested as we went, but even with adjustments along the way, we felt it was worth it. You get what you pay for! Nick and the field staff were fabulous. Their craftsmanship shows, they really pay attention to detail and have a great deal of pride in their work. The results exceeded our expectations! They listened extremely well and couldn’t be more helpful and so easy to work with. We highly recommend Interior Trends Remodel & Design and will certainly go back to them for future projects."
