"We actually had three (very friendly, cheerful) guys who did a great job. They arrived on time, were in and out in less than an hour and left our windows sparkling clean. The price was very reasonable, especially with the Angie’s List coupon. Over the last few years, other companies I’ve hired for window cleaning are now sending only one worker, and I’ve noticed a drop in service and quality. I’ll definitely use Two Guys in the future."

"Daniel was prompt, professional and thorough. The end product is superb. We have other glass sliding doors to tint, and Iâ ll call â Tucson Home Window Tintâ again. I wish all contractors were as good! We are extremely pleased. For what itâ s worth, Iâ m a licensed Architect and qualified to know what works and what doesnâ t."

"The installers were great. The salesperson made promises that he did not keep and he missed a window. When the person came to measure he also didn’t catch that I was having all my windows done except one. The windows look great. The response when I notified the co that one window was missed was very fast but added to my cost."

"Very happy and pleased with the entire experience. He was very nice, offered really nice recommendations that would accommodate the house. Took the time to explain to me why he used the materials that he did. Just overall, a very pleasant experience, and I would definitely recommend."

Windows questions, answered by experts

The biggest disadvantages of low-E windows have to do with cost and, depending on your personal taste, appearance. Low-E windows cost more than traditional windows—typically between $300 and $1,000 per window, plus installation costs. Though they can save you money in the long run, low-E windows have a hefty upfront price tag. Additionally, low-E windows have a slightly different look than traditional windows. While some people don’t notice it, others say the low-E coating gives windows a hazy look.

Bow windows need support because they are large and extend out from the exterior wall of the home. Bow windows may extend 1 foot to several feet from the outside of the home, so you’ll need to provide additional support to handle this weight. A window contractor will be able to provide the proper amount of support for your new bow window.

In most cases, it's worth it to install hurricane windows—especially if you live in an area prone to hurricanes and storms. Hurricane windows not only protect your windows from breaking but also protect the interior of your home from storm damage while also potentially reducing your homeowner's insurance premium. On top of that, hurricane windows have an ROI of 80% to 85%.

If your windows are drafty, fogging up between panes, or hard to open or close, it might be time for a replacement. Unexplained increases in your energy bills, rotting frames, broken seals, and noticeable noise from outside can also indicate it’s time for new windows. In addition, if you find yourself frequently needing to repair your windows, it’s probably more cost-effective in the long run to replace them.

Shatter-resistant glass will ensure that even with a high impact, the glass of your window panes is less likely to break. If you’re looking for a more low-cost way to prevent vandalism, the most traditional answer would be to board up windows with a strong plywood sheet. Adding security cameras is also a surefire way to ward off potential vandalism.
