"Prompt, courteous, skillful, and above all, careful not to damage any other plants or structures in the area.  Took into account all my concerns.  The knowledgeable owner, Bill, worked alongside his crew for the whole job. In the trickiest job, they managed to cut away, bit by bit, one mature palo verde tree  that was intertwined with another tree, without any damage at all to the tree we wanted to keep."

"This is a wonderful company owned by two brothers. The job went smoothly and quickly, from the companies' first response to the finished job--which was within three days of contact. They were professional and friendly, did excellent work with all of the right equipment to bring down branches carefully, being aware of lots of delicate plants, brick walls and branches encroaching into neighbors yards. All debris was chipped and hauled away, the yard was raked and it looks great!!! The team is skilled, work well with together, and have deep knowledge of local trees."

"I got a good price from other tree removal companies but hired Branching Out Tree Service because they were very friendly and were the only ones that could provide proof of Workman Compensation Insurance (to protect their workers and me in case on an accident for this big and risky job). They arrived with a big crane right on time early morning and did a perfect job. They were very professional, clean, super organized, they were done quickly and left my front yard in perfect shape. Their Office manager and office staff replied to all my emails quickly and answered all my questions before I decided to hire them. I highly recommend them for big and risky jobs, as well as small jobs because of their overall impeccable professionalism."

Small jobs welcome

"Hire them! The owner met with me personally, and from the start I could see how much care he puts into his family-owned business. He returned with a talented team and worked right alongside them. They removed a large tree, completed major trimming, and reclaimed the entire fenceline skillfully. They treated my disabled veteran father with genuine respect, and the quality of their work reflects the attention they give to every detail. Our family is truly grateful, and I recommend them without hesitation."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

If executed correctly your tree should survive after being transplanted to a new spot. However, effective transplanting requires six months, careful root pruning, safe transport to the new location, and replanting in prime soil conditions. You’ll also need an appropriately sized root ball for a complete tree transplant. A good rule of thumb is that, for every inch in diameter, your tree’s root ball needs to be around 11 inches. So a tree with a diameter of six inches needs a root ball of approximately 66 inches.

Not all leaning trees are dangerous, but they can be a hazard as gravity may eventually cause them to fall. A key factor is whether the lean is new or has been present for a long time. Trees that have grown with a lean for years are not typically an immediate danger, but a sudden lean is a cause for concern as it often indicates weakening roots. If a tree is leaning more than 15% from vertical, you should consider having it straightened or transplanted. To be safe, it's always best to hire a professional arborist to inspect any leaning tree to assess the risk and avoid potential accidents.

The ideal time to prune a tree depends on the type of tree. Typically, late winter or early spring is a good time to prune but isn't always the case for "towering trees." It's best to trim when trees are dormant and before blooms appear but can vary depending on the tree type. It's always best to research the type of tree or ask a professional tree trimmer to determine when is the perfect time to prune your tree.

You can start your search for a reputable arborist online by looking for professionals who hold the proper licensing and are fully insured. Next, read through some online reviews to see what kind of service the expert brings to the table, and confirm that they don’t have a history of complaints with the Better Business Bureau. Finally, you can ask the professional for a list of references and then call them to ask questions about the service, professionalism, value, and more that the expert brings to the table.

If tree branches cross well into your property line, in many cases, these branches become part of your property, and you can trim them up until your neighbor’s property line. However, this issue will vary based on local ordinances, so you should do your research before making any decisions. Better yet, speak with your neighbor about how to handle any tree issues.

If you don’t mind the branches, you can leave them be, but if they’re becoming a hazard, it’s definitely worth having a conversation.
