Arizona Color Quest Painting has been a licensed and bonded company since 2001. Roc #170899 I started in the painting, drywall and wall covering industry in 1983 when I was 16 years old. Since then I have worked with some of Arizona's largest painting companies such as Pete King and Ghaster Painting completing many jobs in both commercial and residential. I completed top of my class 3 years interior decorating and design through the Phoenix Painters Union Local 86 and I have worked on projects such as the Wildlife World Zoo building and painting exhibits for over 10 years, Phoenix City Hall, Pointe resorts as well as many residential projects new and repaint. I have a vast knowledge in the construction industry and don't "just throw the paint on". I know what causes the underlying problems and how to CORRECTLY fix it. I was also a Superintendent for Del Webb Coventry and participated in the building of many large housing divisions such as Anthem, Sun City West, Sun City Grand, McDowell Mountain Ranch Stetson Hills and Kensington Estates in Mesa just to name a few. I have a very strong reputation for my integrity and quality and can provide many reliable and VERY satisfied references upon request. I have never had any complaints with ROC and provide a high quality job with attention to detail. If you are looking fo a low ball scab painter then I am not your painter. I believe in quality over quantity and with quality quantitiy will come. For a FREE ESTIMATE please call Duane Osborne at 623-332-8480. Thank you.

Build it, fix it, or remodel it, I can do it all! A one man show that has been doing this my whole life. From growing up on a farm to running a business of various services, I've been "in the business" of building, fixing, and/or maintaining anything and everything that has to do with a home. All jobs figured on my hourly rate, with a one hour minimum. No "set fees" regardless of time. (many companies do this KNOWING that they can get things done quickly, thereby making over $100/hr. on some jobs) I've built decks, garages, homes, and additions. I've remodeled kitchens, baths, basements, and virtually every room in a home. I've ran equipment, developed roads, driveways, and fixed drainage issues. I've replaced water heaters, faucets, dishwashers, washers and driers. Doors, windows, pet doors, and skylights are familiar to me. Various kinds of fencing, gates, and pet containment. If it has to do with home repair, maintenance, and/or improvement chances are I've done it. Give me a call and see what I can do for you.

we have 3 finishers we have 4 sheetrock hangers we take checks or cashiers checks or cash we will meet and beat any prices with in reason to meet your budget!! small painting jobs welcome as well 480-204-8636 ken

"Across the board terrible workmanship and a horrible mess at the end. I hired Ken after getting 3 quotes. They were all about the same but his experience seemed good and trustworthy. I was VERY specific that I wanted high quality work and was willing to pay a good price for it. Though I paid for it, probably got the worst workmanship I have ever seen. The taping was only partially done - not top coat, no proper feathering of joints or corners, etc. Then he put sloppy texture on the whole lot to hide the bad tape. It's hard to see it unless you inspect it all carefully with a bright light after its all dries, but the whole house looks awful and I have no idea how to fix it. Seams are all visible under the heavy, slopped on texture. If he has just spent the few extra hours to tape it properly most of it would be OK or fixable. But the slopped on texture to hide the incomplete tape job and it looks wretched. Even where he was just coated smooth walls that were already good, the texture is completely uneven. - some light, some small some big some thick (skip trowel texture) This is a $120K remodel on a $700k house, and it looks wretched like a low grade rental house in a slum!! Talk about ruining a beautiful home in a nice neighborhood! I can't install the kitchen cabinets until it's corrected. There is dust everywhere. Just a train wreck situation caused by 1 guy after many months and a small fortune spent. Definitely look elsewhere and BE CAREFUL!! Everybody will tell you they are the really good and will do great work. A lot of them take a payment and cut corners and run away. If you just want cheap (and bad) there are plenty out there who will do that for your flip or rental. If you want good, be ready to inspect everything every stage. Don't pay until you are sure it's up to standard."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

You shouldn’t leave drywall outside overnight, especially if you live in a wet or humid climate. The moisture from humidity, rain, or other elements can damage the drywall, making it weaker and susceptible to mold growth. Stash any extra drywall in a dry area away from the elements to protect it from moisture.

It is more difficult to drywall a ceiling than it is to drywall a wall, but not so hard that DIYers can’t tackle it. One of the main issues with hanging drywall on your ceiling is getting it into place. Drywall isn’t light so, if you are hanging full drywall panels, you will need at least two (it’s better with more) people to hold the panel while you drill it into the ceiling as a single piece can weigh between 40 and 60 pounds and will need to be held in place for up to 10 minutes.

Whether it’s better to screw or glue drywall depends on your specific budget and project timeline. Professional drywall installers are more likely to use screws and fasteners than adhesives, but it takes longer. But if you are DIYing your drywall installation, glue is a perfectly fine choice if you’re willing to pay extra for adhesive.

There is no way to cut drywall without making dust, but you can reduce the amount of dust and especially the dangerous airborne particles by using manual cutting tools. Using a utility knife to score and snap your drywall will minimize dust production, and a jab saw for cutting cutouts for boxes and fixtures will generate almost no airborne dust. Even if you use these methods, you should still wear a respirator and safety goggles to avoid damage to your lungs and eyes.

If you're comfortable hanging drywall yourself, you may be comfortable finishing it. But it's worth noting that finishing drywall adds several steps to the process and a lot of waiting time. Hiring a drywall installer may be the way to go if you'd rather spend your time doing other things or are nervous about leaving a rough surface.
