"We got the quote one day and the work was done same day we agreed to it. One small area of drywall repair missed and the worker did not handle the payment. The primary contractor came back for payment. Good experience overall."

"The crew was on time daily and very pleasant to deal with. They worked without stopping and cleaned up after their work daily. They were professional and easy to communicate with. They did an excellent job and did not make a mess. The quality of their work is excellent! Everyone who has seen the work of Beehive Ceilings has been very impressed. I have already referred two clients to them."

"Dany was one of the most professional painters I have ever worked with. He was always there when he said he would be, he used quality paint and his work was perfect. About 2 days into the project I asked him to remove a wooden wall and add drywall. He gave me a fair price for the extra work and still finished on time. I gave him keys to my place and he locked up every night. After the project he wiped down counters mopped floors and you could hardly tell he had been there except for the beautiful paint job."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

Most repairs take 1-3 days, depending on drying times for joint compound and paint touch-ups.

Applying spackle is a simple DIY project that most people can complete in just a few hours. Even homeowners who have little DIY experience can complete this project in an afternoon. However, if you're uncomfortable with the project or don't have the time, you can always hire a pro to help.

There are some instances when you can use extra drywall in your garden. Ideally, unused scraps of new drywall are best for amending soil without the concern of additional chemicals or mold. However, drywall with paint, mold, or potential asbestos requires specialized disposal by a professional and should be kept out of your garden.

Look for flaking paint or air bubbles that burst and then flake away. Paint will begin to flake after being exposed to minimal moisture or water, so it’s a good indicator of any water damage. If you notice your paint starting to flake, feel the plaster underneath to see if it is soft or damp.

Yes, you can speed up the time it takes for plaster to dry, but it's important to do so carefully to avoid issues like cracking or crumbling. Proper ventilation is key; open a window or use a fan to circulate air in the room. Heat can also accelerate drying, but be cautious, as too much heat can cause the plaster to dry too quickly and crack. Check the plaster's packaging for the recommended drying temperature and set the room's thermostat accordingly. While managing humidity is important, avoid using a dehumidifier, which can remove moisture too aggressively and result in crumbly plaster.
