"Wonderful....I will hire them again if and when tree service is required. My next door neighbors hired them after seeing their completed word and of course, my recommendation. I had estimates from at least 5 other companies; their price was the best of all the others. The men who started and completed the work were extremely courteous and industrious."

"Aguilar Tree Service apparently subbed out the job to a different tree Service. The price was well below that of other estimates and the two man crew worked hard and fast to remove dead branched and limbs broken by wind. The work was completed on the same day of the estimate. The bad news is that most of the cuts were not at the branch collar but maybe 6 to 12 inches above it, even for dead branches. I doubt that it will help the tree close over the wound. In summary, great price and hard workers but lacked good arborist practices."

"I can only say that I am extremely pleased with every bit of this experience and I couldn’t be more happy with the outcome! I interviewed a total of 10 tree removal companies and I selected Essence AZ, for a number of reasons. I selected May 3rd for the removal. Owner Bryan and his team of 4 total, arrived exactly on time. They are obviously very experienced based on what I observed, the equipment they used and how well they worked together. They were truly like a “well oiled, efficient machine”. I had 4 large trees removed. It is absolutely incredible that it only took them 4 hours to remove all 4 completely, run all of it through the chipper, use a blower for all leaves and seed pods, and completely clean-up after. If you didn’t know I had 4 large trees before, you would never be able to tell looking at the completed job! The two trees in my front yard were large Sissoo trees. Unfortunately, when we moved in the house 19 years ago, my husband was only told that the trees grow fast and are great shade trees. He wasn’t informed about the invasive root system. Bryan and his team are very experienced in removing this type of tree. He knows exactly how to poison the stump and root system so I won’t have 100 little Sissoo trees sprout up from the roots. All rock that was pulled back, was placed perfectly so you couldn’t even see that there were 2 big trees in my front yard. I had 2 very large, mature ash trees in my backyard close to my pool. They were great for shade but they were a nightmare for my pool because of the millions of seed pods that they get every year. Bryan’s team covered my pool before they started removing the trees. They also moved my big patio furniture to be able to access the trees and make a pathway to be able to carry all of what was cut out front to the chipper. They tied off all of the limbs so when they were cut, they could control every branch. They didn’t just let them fall to the ground. I have neighbors on each side of the wall that the trees were against. They have pools as well. I checked with the neighbors after Bryan’s team was finished, and my neighbors told me not even one limb fell in their yards or pools. One of ash the trees was in a 3 ft. raised up, large planter, that goes around 2 sides of my pool. His team had to get the stump grinder up there and they did so with ease. When they were finished cutting down the trees and the rock replaced, they used the blower and completely cleaned my backyard up. They even cleaned out my pool. If you didn’t know I had 2 large trees in my backyard, you would never be able to tell looking at the completed removal and clean-up. I selected Essence because I really liked Bryan. He wasn’t arrogant or pushy like the reps and owners of many of the other larger tree removal companies. You could tell he is very confident and experienced in your first conversation with him. His pricing was very fair. He wasn’t the least expensive or the most expensive. He was in the middle of the range. He is certainly less expensive than the larger, well named removal companies. His finished work product is top notch!! I will be recommending Bryan and Essence AZ, LLC to anyone and everyone I know that needs trees removed. I don’t always tip service providers like you find on Angi, but I certainly did tip Bryan and his team because they truly deserved something extra! I can only say you will not be disappointed if you use Essence AZ, LLC for any tree removal services you need. I usually don’t take the time to write detailed reviews but when I have extraordinary service provided for a very reasonable price, I want to share it with everyone!! Share this with your friends and family as well, they will not be disappointed either!"

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

An unsafe tree can cause serious damage to your home and property, so tree inspections are important to ensure your home isn’t in danger from a nearby tree. Unhealthy trees can also be unsafe trees, as diseases and insect damage can compromise a tree’s stability, leading to potential damage and safety risks.

All of the tree root removal methods mentioned above are effective on any kind of root, whether it’s still growing or simply needs a gentle nudge to finish decomposing. The only difference is that larger roots tend to be harder to remove and may require multiple chemical treatments as well as manual labor to eradicate.

Cutting down a tree next to power lines is never a DIY job, and it’s a good idea to contact your utility company first. In most cases, the utility company will need to take care of any tree problems within 10 to 15 feet of power lines. If you want to remove the tree for aesthetic reasons, hire a pro to do the job. Trying to cut trees near power lines yourself can create many safety hazards, and you could be liable if you inadvertently cause damage to electrical equipment.

Finding a reliable arborist starts with researching specialists in your area and checking their licensing and certifications. Use online resources like the Better Business Bureau (BBB) to conduct research on each company. Next, contact the arborist and ask the following questions to see whether they are the right fit for your project:

  • Do you handle or specialize in dealing with the issue I’m having?

  • Are you fully insured?

  • Do you have customer references I can call?

  • Do you have any third-party certifications?

  • What equipment and strategies do you plan to use?

Generally, you’ll want to prune back the trunk by 1 to 2 feet each year to promote bushy growth. Doing so concentrates vegetative buds closer to the bottom of the tree, where you can easily harvest fruit. For side shoots that are a year old, leave at least six leaves.

Never remove more than 30% of a tree’s foliage during pruning—even if your tree is really overgrown. Removing this much foliage at a time could kill your tree.
