"Beware of shipping issues with this company. Ordered an ice maker installation kit on 10/10/25. Shipping was due no later than 10/20 according to company and FedEx tracking. FedEx tracking showed the package at their facility for 8 days without moving beginning on 10/15. Called FedEx 3 times. Each time they said they cannot find package and I have to contact shipper. Shipper has to make a claim, they will not mark it as lost. Called Appliance Parts Pros twice. Each time they say FedEx has to mark package lost before they will do anything. They also state they have to wait 14 days from them before doing anything because of their contract with FedEx. I don't care about their contract, I want what was ordered and paid for. Just going in circles with them and FedEX. If they shipped after 14 days it would be 22 days from that point, 32 days from the date of order if they shipped it that day. "I knew that I was going to need very good help with this water heater replacement. The old one was 22 years old and had a lot of sediment in it. Also the location was difficult to get to. Jack sheduled the appointment to fit my schedule. Brad and Mickey arrived promptly and tackled the situation. As expected, the drain was clogged and the tank was way too heavy to lift out without draining. When using air pressure failed, they pulled out a shop vac, jerry-rigged a small hose on the end and slowly suck out enough water to allow the tank to be lifted out. They're one of the best crews I've ever had working for me. I have my mechanic, my electrician, and now I have my plumbers. I'll never use anyone else and I highly recommend them."

When it’s time to dispose of your old AC unit, first make sure a pro helps you recover any refrigerant left in the system, per federal law (the Clean Air Act), according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. 

Check with your city’s waste management department, or ask the retailer you purchased the new AC unit from if they take old units for recycling. Another option is to check for a Recycling Facilities Servicing partner of the EPA. These facilities are trained for proper refrigerant removal and AC unit disposal.

You can convert a gas heater to electric, but it isn’t as simple as swapping a plug or two. First of all, you need to make sure there’s adequate power to the unit, as electric units require much higher power amounts versus gas. Then, you need to close off the gas lines and ventilation. Make sure you don’t also need a permit for an electric water heater—some cities require it. Making the switch can cost upwards of $1,500.

You might need to install a new outlet if there isn’t one already located within 5 feet of the hot tub or if the current outlet you have installed and plan to use with the hot tub isn’t sufficient to carry the required electrical load. Most current hot tub models use 50 to 60 amps and require 220 to 240 volts to function. The cost to install a 220 outlet averages about $220, according to HomeAdvisor. 

In most cases, the repair is worth the value as it should help maintain the life of the appliance for a longer period, and the repair should be a lower cost than replacing the entire unit. For example, if the cost to repair your refrigerator will be more than 50% of the cost to buy a new one, and it’s 10 years old or more, then it may not be worth repairing.
