"ABD Plumbing removed and replaced two old toilets. The quoted price was fair. They came when they said they would, completed the work quickly and professionally, and cleaned up afterwards. We were very satisfied with their work and they are our new "go to" plumbers."

Small jobs welcome

"We just recently purchased this home (within 10 months). Over time we have come to find out that there have been many corners cut and major repairs needed. J.L. Wright Plumbing came to our rescue! They were quick, professional and overall reasonably priced. We would definitely hire again. I gave 4 stars for quality, as once they were finished and left- I heard this overwhelming flow of water under the house. I went to turn off at the water heater and it did nothing (meaning busted pipe under). I ran out and shut off the main valve (after trying to get it flush to turn....)- after which at least 75 gallons of water had been disbursed under the home (watched meter- costing us more money in water bill and time of return). I called JL and they came right back and fixed everything correctly. Excellent communication and the (Office Manager?) woman I spoke with was very polite, professional and overall very helpful! Thanks so much!"

They took out the bathtub replaced it with a shower 3 side wall and ceiling  with bench seat, grab bar and wand replace all plumbing fixtures and glass shower doors. "We contracted with Decatur Jacuzzi Bath for a replacement shower a couple of years ago. On 8/25/2025, a technician, Josh Keith responded to our call and replaced some malfunctioning shower caulking at no charge. He was on time, performed an excellent replacement job in less-than an hour, and stated it was within warranty. We appreciated the prompt response to our problem and the cordial and appreciative attitude while here - kudos to Decatur, Jacuzzi and Josh Keith."

"The actual project has not been done yet. However, I would like to commend Corey for his time and professionalism. He came to assess the situation with my front steps which are sinking. He thoroughly explained what had to be done to correct the problem. I am looking forward to the final repairs in August."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Yes, the thawing process is often the reason frozen pipes burst in the first place. Though it may seem like the freezing itself causes a pipe to burst, it's actually the pressure that builds inside the pipes in your home that really contributes to the pipe bursting. As the ice melts, more pressure builds in the pipes. That pressure increases further if some of the water thaws only to refreeze.

Boiling water helps unclog a drain, but usually only with a harder abrasive such as baking soda or vinegar. On its own, it isn’t the most effective tool. In addition, you shouldn’t use boiling water if you have PVC pipes, as it can soften or melt them. Use a plunger or enlist the help of a pro if you have plastic pipes.

According to the Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC), the distance between your trap and the vent should be no more than 6 feet. For your vent to work properly, it needs to feed into the drain line within 6 feet of trapways that connect to it. Using this formula, you should be able to determine whether you will need multiple vent lines.

A well-installed wall-mounted faucet shouldn’t splash. That’s why it’s worth hiring someone with experience installing wall-mounted faucets. Beyond the installation, you should carefully choose the right faucet and sink combination. If your sink splashes after installation, you can try installing an aerator, which lowers the amount of water coming out of the faucet.

Water backing up in your bathtub could be a clog in the bathtub drain, but it could also signal a problem somewhere else in your plumbing system. Blocked vent pipes caused by leaves, bird nests, or other debris,  along with blocked sewer lines that are damaged or have tree roots could cause backups in various fixtures.
