"We recently had a whole-house repipe done by Justin, Christina, and Cody from Alpha One Plumbing, and their service was exceptional. Facing a slab leak and concerned about the invasive nature of repiping through concrete, especially with our new hardwood floors, Justin recommended running PEX pipes through the attic. This solution not only avoided additional slab leaks but will make future maintenance easier. Additionally, we had them install a water purification and softening system, which will improve water quality and extend the lifespan of our pipes and appliances. Throughout the project, the team demonstrated outstanding skill and professionalism, working diligently in the hot attic and maintaining clear communication. Their meticulous work and attention to detail were evident, and they left the work area clean each day. The combination of the repipe, PEX upgrade, and new water system has been transformative. We highly recommend Alpha One Plumbing for any complex plumbing needsâ they exceeded our expectations in expertise, integrity, and customer satisfaction. Thank you, Alpha One from Dan & Lorrie Perry!"

Sewer Cleaning questions, answered by experts

No, you should not see water in a sewer cleanout. If you do, it could indicate that you have a block or leak in your main sewer line—which can cause sewage to back up inside your home and potentially flood your yard. Your best bet is to call a local sewer cleaner if you notice any water or sewage around your cleanout.

Depending on the home, wastewater either goes into a septic tank and seeps back into the backyard or is sent via sewer system to a local sewage-treatment plant. Septic systems naturally separate different components of the waste so that it can naturally and safely disperse it. They are usually reserved for homes not served by a municipal sewage department (like rural homes). A treatment plant, on the other hand, speeds up that process through screening and purification.

Bleach isn’t likely to help unclog a sewer line. Bleach isn’t useful in this situation because it won’t dissolve the grime and debris in the clog. Instead, you want to use ingredients that will have a chemical reaction to clear out the buildup, like vinegar or salt and baking soda.

Some of the most common plumbing problems in mobile homes are frozen pipes, leaking pipes, clogged drains, and low pressure. Since the pipes in a mobile home aren’t as insulated as those in a standard build, they’re more susceptible to fluctuating temperatures and damage.

A sewer cleanout typically looks like a white or gray PVC pipe with a removable cap. It's often located either in your yard or basement, depending on your home's plumbing configuration. The cleanout pipe is designed to provide easy access to your sewer system for maintenance and inspections. It may be flush with the ground or slightly elevated, making it distinguishable from other pipes. When you remove the cap, you can access the sewer line directly or determine its direction, which can be helpful when you need to locate your sewer line from your house to the street.
