We are an on-site screen, porch and window repair company. Whether you're a home owner or a contractor, you will enjoy a pleasant, hassle free experience.

"Fantastic--Alex is prompt and does excellent work. I had all of the very old window screens in my home replaced, including one screen that needed to be made from scratch due to a bent frame. A few years ago, Alex made a new frame for a screened patio door with great results, so I asked him to redo the screens on the windows this year. Alex arrived promptly, removed the window screens, replaced the screens, made a new frame and screen for one window, and then put the window screens back in. He worked efficiently, is friendly, and his price was more than reasonable. I'm very happy with my new screens and just as happy that I know who to call if I need additional work--Alex aka The Screen Guy. Thanks, Alex!"

Renewal by Andersen of Burnsville, MN is proud to serve the window replacement and patio door replacement needs of the Burnsville area. We are the window replacement division of Andersen Windows, drawing on the Andersen tradition of over 110 years of quality, innovation and craftsmanship. Our turnkey process begins with a call from you and includes a respectful in-home sales consultation, custom-manufacturing of replacement windows to precisely fit your home and installation by a dedicated team of professionals. Best of all, we stand behind our products and installation with one of the strongest warranties in the Burnsville window replacement business. Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri: 10am - 6pm Wed: 9am - 7pm Sat: 9am - 4pm Sun: 11am - 4pm

"The contract for about $23000 this job was canceled due to the following issues: 1) We were extremely surprised when the representative demanded a 50% payment up front. We had never before pald up front for any contracted work Since there are no liens on our house it is evident that we have paid construction costs for work that has been done. We objected to this but the Andresen rep insisted that this was the only way Andersen did work. 2) The following day I did research on the Minnesota Attorney General's site and found recommendations that absolutely no money be paid until the work was completed and the site cleaned up prior to any payment, and that an amount of money should be retained for a year to assure that issues that developed over the year from the date of completion be addressed by the contractor. 3) I discussed the attorney general's recommendations with the Andersen Rep and he again reiterated that they did not do business in that manner, so I asked to speak with his manager. The manager also echo'd the Rep. 4) Following this discussion and within the time required by law where I could cancel the contract I did just that. Andersen returned my check. 5) A week later i received a flier in the mail containing a ."Renewal By Andersen" add in which they clearly denoted that at the time of the Andersen bid that they accepted "NO money down, NO payments, NO interest for one year" I have attached a picture of the flier that clearly shows this vow that was supposed to be made by Andersen. I was blown away. The Rep and the Rep's manager clearly and blatantly lied to me. I also started to think that if they would lie about something that is shown in print in an add that was probably sent to everyone in Eagan, that what's to say they weren't lying about other things? For instance, they touted a percentage off for each window. A percentage off what? The Rep never showed me a price list. I was obviously a fool for accepting his quotation of price as being indicative of the "Deal" that Andersen was offering. This was my fault for trusting the rep. I should have asked for more documentation. Anyway the question is, it is two bad actors at the Burnsville branch, or is this what all sales reps are taught? I cannot answer that question. I may try dealing with Andersen again but I : 1) Will use a different office for the work, I will not go out to Burnsville again. 2) I Will demand proof that any discount matches up with the book price before the quotation is made. 3) I will demand the "NO money down, NO payments, NO interest for one year," the promise that Andersen is making in the flier. I will also recommend that anyone dealing with Andersen, and in specific, the Andersen Burnsville location also ask for those five requirements. After my experience I would not count on them doing anything besides maximizing their own profitability. Unlike Shane Company, you should not assume that you have a friend at the Andersen Burnsville office. (Between you and me I don't think I would count on it at Shane either. :)"

FAQs for door service projects in Minneapolis, MN

It’s usually better to repair damaged interior doors and replace damaged exterior doors, but it depends on the type and extent of the damage. Damage to interior doors won’t threaten your home’s security, so if a repair or partial replacement of only the door (not replacing the door frame) is possible, that route should save you some money. Damage to an exterior door can compromise your home’s security, so it’s often better to replace it entirely, especially if there’s frame damage. You can ask your door installer which course of action is best for your situation.

The average cost to install a door is around $1,100, but you could pay anywhere from $150 for a hollow-core interior door installation up to $2,000 or a high-end exterior door installation. There are a few cost factors to consider to get an accurate price, including whether your wall opening exists, the type of door, the quality and security of the door, whether you need to replace the frame, and the door size. You can expect to pay $150 to $700 for a standard 36-by-80-inch door and between $400 and $1,600 for an 80-by-48-inch door.

If you’re replacing an interior door, it’s best to get the work done in the summer or winter, as door installation professionals are the least busy during these seasons and might charge lower labor costs based on the decreased demand. You can also potentially save money by hiring a professional to install your exterior door during these seasons, but most homeowners wait until the spring or fall so that the extreme temperatures don’t put added strain on their HVAC systems while the door is being added or replaced.

Door installation usually takes three and four hours, including removing the old door and frame, fitting the new door and frame in place, shimming it to make sure it’s perfectly level, and making adjustments to the hinges and locking mechanisms to ensure proper functionality. A door-hanging professional can replace an interior door in between one and two hours. Door installation will take significantly longer if your installer needs to create a wall opening, and it can take less time if the existing door frame remains.

It’s possible to install a door yourself if the wall opening already exists, but the work is rather complicated, and a professional installation is usually well worth the investment. For your door to work and close properly, you’ll need to shim and level the door frame in your wall perfectly, which can be difficult. Additionally, we recommend you always hire a professional door installer to place an exterior door, as mistakes during the installation process can lead to poor security for your home.
