Reviews of Piano Moving Companies Near Your Area

Modern Piano Moving
5.0
Modern Piano Movers is a great company! They are reasonably priced, and treat your piano as if it were their own. Upon my parents' passing, I had the family piano shipped from California to Virginia. They kept me informed every step of the way. The crew who delivered it treated it with the utmost care, which was very important to me given it sentimental value. I would highly recommend Modern Piano Movers to anyone who has a piano that is precious to them that needs to be shipped.

They were great! They got the piano in through a tight area with a staircase without damaging the piano or the house.

Johnson's Piano Moving

They called before coming to pick up the piano and were an hour early. When they arrived they looked at where the piano was and the path of where it would be moved out. They were super friendly and professional. They carefully removed the piano legs and parts that should be moved separately and wrapped the piano extremely well. Our piano had been damaged in a previous move (not by them) and they took extra caution to make sure that side didn't become more damaged in the move. When they got to my friends home they were super friendly and professional and helped answer all of her questions. Even helped move things out of the way in the room to make the piano fit better in the small space. I am super impressed and would recommend this company to anyone who needs a piano moved.

Johnson's Piano Moving

We needed a piano moved to our house and called around for estimates. Johnson's Piano Moving was gave me an estimate much lower than other movers. Initially I was weary but they were responsive on the phone and email and guaranteed they could move the piano within my specified time frame. They were meticulous about moving the piano and very respectful of the homeowner. When it turned out the piano was more complicated in moving out of a room than initially thought they still charged me the original quote. I was very pleased and highly recommend!

We enthusiastically recommend Johnson's Piano Moving. They were prompt, professional, and efficient. They gave an estimate, and they stuck to it. We felt our piano was in good hands from start to finish. They clearly are experts in piano moving and have been doing this for a long time. We are SO glad we did not trust our piano to regular movers.

I could not be happier. I called Ted on a Monday and the piano was picked-up and delivered to NC on Thursday of the same week. I had contacted several larger moving companies and they want $1200-1500 to move the piano. The piano has been in the family for three generations and Johnson Piano Moving gave it a lot of TLC.. Great job at a reasonable price.

Schaeffer's Piano
5.0
People with Schaeffer’s Piano Company are very knowledgeable. Their knowledge is very well rounded. My piano was made by my grandfather. Only two were made and the people from Schaeffer’s Piano Company seemed to be very familiar with it. They did the appraisal on it for me. They have also stored my piano when I was overseas. However, I think that they stopped storing pianos couple of years ago. The people that come out to my home are always very pleasant. I would use them again in the future if required.

Moving Sucks Movers LLC

Moving Sucks Movers were absolutely amazing! I wasn't sure anyone could do this move. Six guys came on a morning after snow fell, moving a heavy piano from a second story den across a deck bridge, through woods on the steeply sloped property, and down a rickety snow covered path to the street! They then pushed the piano from this neighbor's house up the sloped street to our house around the corner. The whole team was vaccinated and had a great, positive attitude. Santiago communicated regularly with me as we anticipated this crazy move during a week of multiple snowfalls. I recommend this company to everyone.

Needed a piano moved from our friend's house to ours. Phone and email contact with Ted at Johnsons established a price, date, and time quickly, efficiently and convenient to all three parties in the transaction. I had a window and the movers called me when they were on their way to my friend's house. At my house, they were courteous, efficient and careful - they had ramps on which to take the piano off the truck and also ramps to put on our outdoor steps to transport the piano into the house. The piano was covered. Three men were involved and it needed all three. A good experience. We are piano-sitting for three years, I will call Johnsons again when it's time for the piano to go home!

They were great! On-time and reasonably priced! They moved the piano from our basement up a very "challenging" staircase without a scratch. We would definitely use Johnson's Piano Moving again!

The team arrived early for our 1500 hrs appointment. They consulted with the person selling the piano to us to optimize the process to exit of the piano from the back of the house to the truck. My family and I arrived shortly after that and signed the final paperwork. The team got to work and had the piano out of the house and in the truck within 10 minutes. It was moved to our house. Unpacking and moving it into our house and to our front room probably took 5 minutes. The speed and efficiency were amazing. We watched them and the care they took to ensure the safety of the piano was comforting to us. Good job, team!

GOHN'S PIANO MOVING
5.0
Wow--the guys at Gohn's were amazing. My piano is HEAVY--they said it was the heaviest they'd ever moved, and I believe them. When I made the appointment, I informed the scheduler, but she only sent three guys (which is the normal complement for a piano crew). They were also only expecting a few steps, and got a whole flight. The entire time, they were concerned about the piano's safety and their own. They successfully moved my heirloom grand piano (with a cast iron panel) with no damage.

Owner told me the options and approximate price over the phone, then came and surveyed the house before his movers showed up. Told me it was possible they could move the piano to the basement and store it there, saving us storage costs. Movers attempted to move piano to basement, but then owner decided against it, brought the piano back up the stairs, put it on the truck, and dispatched it to their warehouse. Five months later, they returned and reassembled it. Piano appears to have weathered the journey well. Efficient and professional. Well done.

We were unable to find pros for your Piano Movers project in Ashburn, VA

However, we may have pros in another category that can help with your project.

Even if you do plenty of dead-lifts at the gym, a piano is too big of a load to tackle on your own. But regular movers might not be the best option - there are local piano movers near you that specialize in transporting these delicate instruments so the tune and quality of sound are not impacted by the jolt of a move.

Check out these piano moving hiring tips to make sure that you end up working with the best pro near you:

1. Ask About Their Methods

Good methods are a sign of a good piano moving company.

Even if a company is properly insured, you don't want anyone getting hurt on the job, and you'll need to make sure that your prospective company has the right tools to make the job easy and pain-free. While the special dollies that piano movers use don't come cheap, if a company doesn't have these tools, you can't trust them to do the job right.

2. Compare Nearby Rates

The cost to move a piano depends on the size of the instrument and where it's going.

But piano movers shouldn't charge more than $1,000 no matter where you want your piano put. Base rates usually start at around $200, and you should compare the rates charged by a few different companies near your location before you make a final choice.

3. Check with Other Nearby Customers

If a piano moving company near you routinely nicks the lids on the instruments they move, you'll want to know.

Check out reviews online to learn what other customers think of each company you're considering.
