We are ecstatically happy with Xtra Care. Xtra Care is committed to quality, is both proactive and responsive with customer care, and follows through. Based on our experience, I recommend this company without reservation and will use them exclusively for all of our future projects. From the moment we started contacting potential contractors, Xtra Care stood out and was the most engaged and responsive to our inquiries. Cleber and Angela listened carefully to our goals and ideas and developed a plan that exactly met our budget and needs. Both were incredibly patient as we worked through all the details of the project and never tried to upsell us. Mari in the main office is one of the most responsive people I’ve ever encountered. She answered every email or call quickly, gave us plenty of notice of scheduled work, and proactively alerted us when there were unavoidable weather delays. CJ and his hardscaping crew were PHENOMENAL! This was not an easy job, and they had to work around challenging winter weather and supply chain issues. No project is ever challenge-free. The measure of a company and a project manager is how they respond to those challenges. CJ is the gold standard. In addition to staying in regular contact with us throughout the project, CJ responded quickly, efficiently, and expertly to any concerns that we raised. CJ and the hardscaping crew’s commitment to excellence was apparent every day and shines through in the quality of the final product. Raphael and the landscaping crew capped off the project with a perfect execution of Angela’s design. On installation day, both Angela and Raphael were here to fine-tune the design and ensure that we were happy with all the plants and their placement. The landscaping crew did a great job – their soil preparation and careful handling and installation of the plants made it clear that they know what they are doing and really care about the long-term health of the landscaping. We had planned to use a fence company that we had used previously to repair and replace failing fencing, but after working with Xtra Care and meeting Bruno, their carpentry lead, we decided to go with Xtra Care, and are so glad that we did. Bruno took the time to work with us and to provide options that would keep us within our overall project budget. The workmanship on the fence is outstanding and better than what we’ve seen from other fencing installers

Sean and his team rebuilt our deck with recycled flooring (vs. the wood that was falling apart), built a beautiful stone patio, built a wood shed, and built a fence around the patio. We couldn't be happier! It's beautiful. Happy to share our experience or photos!

Lazaro and his crew members, Fidel, William, and Issac, transformed our back yard from being a dirty and unpleasant hellscape where my wife and I never spent any time to being a beautiful and clean space where we can host parties, cookouts, and relax. The crew was extremely professional, organized, thoughtful, experienced, efficient, and communicative throughout the course of the project. I was quite impressed with their design and planning skills, extensive experience, and passion for their work. My wife and I own a small row house with a small back yard, which presented unique challenges to the crew: no back yard access except through neighbors’ properties. The crew handled this challenge well by being communicative and friendly with my neighbors and always cleaning up the space at the end of each working day. They always ensured that the fencing and hardscaping looked good from both sides of the property line, so that my neighbors were also happy! Another challenge was that an adjacent property is about 3 feet above grade and not pleasant to look at from our yard. Lazaro’s planning and vision for a beige brick half-wall, topped with wooden lattice flower boxes was a great finishing touch that provided a beautiful transition between the red brick paver patio and the elevated wooden fence to block the view of the adjacent property. The crew carefully planned their work from the beginning, so that there were no surprises at the end as the finishing touches were put on and the fence was erected. My wife and I are also confident that the money we spent on this work will be a great investment—not only for enjoying our new home, but also in the resale value some day in the future. Our back yard is now something to brag about! We are also confident that the work quality and materials are built to last a very long time. We are so happy. Thank you, Lazaro

From beginning to end I received top notch service. I was shown multiple samples to choose from, a date was set and my old fence was taken down and carted away. Once local permits were approved a date was set, and after a brief weather delay, my double gated wood fence was installed on a Saturday to my great satisfaction. I want to personally thank Shawn, Stacey, Stephen, Emma, and Cliber and his install crew for making this an amazing experience. I highly recommend DanDale Fence

It went VERY well! We had ordered a one off fence that required materials to be shipped in from a vendor out west. These guys were the only installers up for the challenge. The fence looks amazing and we couldn’t be happier with it!

Couldn't be happier having my 2 large dogs contained. Nicole really helpful in explaining options - not pushy, just fun and informative. Rick VanBlargan installed the fence and trained me and the dogs. Super helpful and not condescending concerning my lack of technical understanding or my lack of dog training abilities. I am really pleased

Jose and his team came when they said they would and performed the work as requested. The crew cleaned up and hauled away all the old fencing and Jose even asked if there was anything else I wanted to throw out. The price paid was the price in the estimate. My only gripe is that he cancelled several times before he was able to come by to look at the job and provide the estimate, but once that was done everything else went smoothly. The new gates are solid and look good

Fencing FAQ

  1. How much does it cost to install a fence?

Answer: The average cost to install a fence is $2,600. A variety of factors will impact the overall cost of fencing installation, such as the length of the fence, the materials you choose, and local labor costs. Fencing projects using the lowest cost materials and with lower labor costs can cost as little as $1 to $6 per linear foot, while projects using the highest cost materials and with higher labor costs may be as high as $15 to $45.

  2. Do I need a permit to build a fence around a yard?

Answer: Whether you’ll need a permit to build a fence around your yard will depend on your city or county's local codes. Many metropolitan and suburban areas require a permit to install most fencing, but they may not for fences situated behind a house as opposed to in front of it or fences that don’t run within a certain distance of the road. To find out if you’ll need a permit to fence your yard, reach out directly to your local government office.

  3. What is the cheapest fence to install?

Answer: The cheapest fencing to install is chain-link fencing. Chain-link fencing is typically cheaper than other fence types because the materials cost less, and installation is generally quicker and easier than other options. Chain-link fencing is affordable, easy to install, and low maintenance. However, it’s usually considered less secure than other options and doesn’t increase resale value as much as fences made of different materials.

  4. Is a wood or vinyl fence cheaper?

Answer: Wood fences are generally cheaper than the cost of vinyl fences. While the cost of materials for wood and vinyl fences is usually very similar, the labor cost associated with installing a vinyl fence is higher. Wood fencing is also easier to install than vinyl fencing, making it possible to save money by making wood fence installation a DIY project. It’s also possible to DIY install a vinyl fence.

  5. What is the life expectancy of a vinyl fence?

Answer: Vinyl fencing can be expected to last between 10 and 30 years. Vinyl fencing is generally low maintenance, but proper care will ensure it lasts as long as possible. Its long life span and high return on investment make vinyl fencing a popular option for many homeowners.

  6. What type of fence adds to the property value?

Answer: Installing quality fencing, no matter the fence type, will generally add value to your property. In general, fences made of longer-lasting, lower-maintenance, and more attractive materials—like wrought-iron, composite, or vinyl—add more value to a property than fences made of lower-cost or less attractive materials, like chain-link. To ensure your fencing adds as much value to your home as possible, be sure it’s properly permitted, approved by your homeowners association (if you have one), and installed properly.
